Well it was a very productive day - cleaned the house bar some mopping tomorrow. Then did 2 lots of bath salts - decongestant and milky sensitive skin nightime bath for achy muscles and also some citrus bath bombes
Then tried out one of the bath melts - lovely! Alongside a natural honey facemask which was also lovely - 1 tsp of honey and my skin felt so soft. When my current stocks finally go I'll be going natural for facemasks as I found some great recipes to try out
Now feeling slighlty worse for wear after 2 large glasses of mulled wine mum brought me back from the German christmas markets in Germany a few years ago. Wow I can feel strength and positivity in all your posts.
I've had a good day. After a bad migraine or two yesterday I decided to get some fresh air and eat lots today. And so powered through decluttering, with a huge help from hubby. Decluttered lots from the loft. Symbolic that. Stuff weighing us down.
My eating needs to improve but I love certain veg ATM like roast tomatoes, parsnips and cucumberSo it's not all bad.
Financial fabbing will resume tomorrow.
I think an early night might be a good idea as I've done quite a lot today :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Get well soon Bitsy.
I keep getting a lot of migrainy headaches too. I think they are referred to as cluster headaches. They are very frustrating and debilitating aren't they. I know mine are "only stress" but they are beginning to wear me down.
A high strength paracetamol/caffeine mix is the only thing that helps but I think I am in danger of over medicating because I know that taking too many painkillers can cause rebound headaches. I'm beginning to think may be my main problem now. I take paracetamol for my back pain and neck pain and I think my cluster headaches are linked to this.
Like you I'm going to try natural remedies, water, fresh air, food, relaxation techniques etc. I actually started doing some yoga again last night and will do some this morning. I've just put some of that "Forhead" lavender stick on my fore head and neck.It might help.
I'm going to book some physio for my back and neck next week. I've also been thinking I might see an acupuncture specialist at the nearby Nuffield hospital. It will cost me of course but if it helps me then it will be a worthwhile investment. My physio gave me a couple of treatments and it did help but I think I need a full consultation and a specially designed course of treatment.
I am determined that after the house move - before I attempt to buy and renovate my next property or take on any projects I am going to take time out to sort out my health issues.
I am going to treat myself to a cross trainer/stepper (I used to have one before till I let someone borrow it and they broke it).
I know it sounds a bit me, me, me but the next part of my game plan is to address my weight, health and fitness.
My eating habits have not been that great so I will definitely address those.
Mine - I like your analogy about the cluttered loft "weighing down on you". Very symbolic.;)
Time to get cracking.
Have a good day.0 -
Hope you feel better Bitsy?
I have a lovely itchy rash all over me - think its an allergic reaction to something. Its been bubbling slowly for the past few days but today its driving me around the bend:mad:
Its like tiny red bumps that eventually come to a small head - very attractive! I've bought some antihistamines this morning and am hoping that they'll help. I don't feel ill, just itchy! The dog doesn't have fleas and I haven't changed washing powder or anything like that so its a bit of a mystery.
Have walked the dog this morning and was going to go swimming but I don't think the chlorine will do me much good at the moment so will go for a long walk this afternoon instead then bath the dog who is now a mucky shade of grey rather than a nice white colour - that will be a trial, always fun!
So its just a quiet day doing some schoolwork and generally faffing about. Will stick to the healthy eating and hopefully have a good day foodwise.
Hope everyone has a restful Sunday - if I ever stop itching I'll try!0 -
I REALLY feel for you WW....I'm 63 in 10 days, never had any sort of allergies to anything before in my life, and a week-and-a-half ago, I suddenly developed an allergic reaction to ALL fish and seafood:eek:
Firstly my hands broke out in itchiness and dermatitis, which I thought was 'cos of something new I'd come into contact with, but on thinking about it realised that I hadn't introduced anything new into my enviroment.
I next thought about foods, and I'd seriously upped my seafood intake in the past few months, as I found the more I ate, the more I reduced the arthritic pain in my hands...to finally zero!!!!! Then I had a thought that maybe the problem lay in that area, so I cut out the mussels and prawns that I was eating. The following day, I just ate a piece of salmon, and bam....full swollen hands, neck and throat....angiodema, and a feeling of something stuck in my throat!!!!:eek::eek: I think I was lucky not to go into full anaphylactic shock!!!
Next day I went and bought some antihistamines....benadryl...which didn't do much, so yesterday I bought something different ( Cetrizine Hydrochloride).... even though the pharmasist said I should stick to the benadryl ( and psychologically rolled her eyes at me when I told her I'd done some online research :mad::mad:...ignorant cow (excuse me please!!!))
Woke up this morning and the swelling in my hands, face and neck are all GREATLY reduced, and the red marks/wheals on my fingers have all but disapperead!!!
I'll wait till after the holidays to go and see my GP....too much illness in the surgery at the moment, I think....too many bugs, norovirus, etc. etc.....don't want to get anything else!!!!
Apparently when you become allergic to a food in adulthood, there's no growing out of it ...which is a real drag as I love seafood, and loved the effect it had on my sore finger joints!!!
Hope you discover what the reason behind your reaction is, soon....it's a REAL drag!!!

WW - I wonder if you maybe have shingles? That usually concentrates around certain areas like the face or (maybe and) around the body like a girdle. It normally gives nerve pain too. If you get very run down you can get shingles. Take it easy :A
Been taking it easy myself today. Had a nice walk about with hubby and dog. Lots of fresh air. It's bitterly cold. Now watching lots of xmas films too.

Thanks ladies for the replies.
I don't think its shingles as its in random places all over me and seems to come and go in turns for places that itch - always somewhere though!
I have taken antihistamines and I think they've helped a bit - don't know whether that's psychosomatic though - whatever, its helping a bit.
Trying to think if I've had anything different to eat - I'm a vegetarian of over 20 years so its difficult to think what it could be - I don't eat fish or meat but have a teeny bit of milk and cheese (not every day) but don't like yoghurt and hardly ever have eggs.
I'm not vegan (tried that years ago and found it nearly impossible) but am not a mad fan of dairy (except cheese).
So, short of not eating I'm not sure what it is?
Have bought some sensitive skin showergel today and a shampoo that I've used in the past without any problem. Will do the next load of washing using Fairy or something similar - we'll see how it goes.:(
On the positive side, I've done all of my school work for the forthcoming week, taken the dog for another hour long walk and washed all the wooden floors. Might settle down with a film for an hour now - not much else to do apart from ironing and I only do that if there's a gun to my head (or my mother's coming!) :rotfl::rotfl:0
