...Called into a meeting in work first thing, we are all Redundant as company being wound up by the revenue. So feeling stressed, have a headache etc etc. I believe everything happens for a reason and I'm willing to turn my hand to anything work wise but just feeling numb at mo :(.

Still in work as paid till end of week, its hard and I don't want to be here.

    EH xx

I know it's a shock, but at least you all know now. :grouphug:

Have they told you how much redundancy you'll get and when? And don't forget, you should be entitled to time off to go to interviews & register with agencies ;)look here

Chin up, everything happens for a reason

    Morning all,

Had feeling fab, had a rubbish night's sleep due to neighbours arguing in early hours I nearly called the police!

Oh you poor thing.:( Life is difficult at the moment with the results of the recession. It's bad enough struggling with all the rising prices but when it hits you so personally and directly, it's no wonder you feel numb.

You need to look after yourself more than ever at a time like this. You need cosseting and who better to do it but yourself! There'll be time for getting out into the workplace and looking for something new but just now comfort yourself and rant on here all you need!
  • Thankyou Floss 2 and maman xx

Been a very long day, directors just back from a meeting with Administrators so i'm hanging on to get an update from them before heading home for vino.

    EH xx

Sending positive vibes to you EH, try to get some rest this evening to let the shock sink in.

Thanks pamsdish. Yes knowing what you have eaten is key. I've had a bad day today. Been good til today though.

WW did the walk today. Only 15 mins but that's what I'm going to try to achieve for this week at least.

    Keep warm everyone :A

cherryprint - agree on the baths, I do love a nice soak every now and again :)

I have a bath almost every night - read a book and wallow in the bubbles for half an hour. (Have a shower in the mornings towash my hair too - I'm squeaky clean!)

:j - well done! Every minute counts!

Just back from a 3km walk with the woofer and have a veggie lasagne in the oven as I type - I'm flipping starving, no time for anything other than a bit of fruit at lunchtime.

Going to do a bit of work and have a bath and watch rubbish telly - a typical mid week evening for me - rock and roll.....:p

EH just wanted to send you a large hug xxx it's a horrible shock but sending positive vibes your way that its a door opening to something better. I confess my H's redundancy was a massive blessing but boy it didn't feel like it at the time. It is hard but do keep positive, keep telling yourself there is something better waiting for you, am sure there is xxxx

EH - just a quickie - so sorry to hear about your job. Do cosset yourself a little - now is the time to take good care of yourself. Try and get a decent night's sleep.

Visited OH - he's not too good. Nightmare journey having to do a detour to avoid the floods. Got back to discover that Dad has hurt his leg - he's knocked one of his vulnerable leg veins and caused a massive bleed. He takes warfarin and of course his blood won't clot properly.

He's refused to go into hospital. My sister had to run to the rescue and is looking after both of our parents. We are trying to sort out extra carers as a temporary measure but I think this is a clear sign that we need a proper long term solution.

At least my house move will mean I'm nearer to them so my poor sister doesn't have to be on constant call.

There's no point me rushing over tonight, my sis and her husband and daughter are all there this evening, taking care of dinner etc and my sister will sleep over. I'll have to see what tomorrow brings.

I've hurt my back so have booked an extra physio for tomorrow.

    Never rains but it pours.

    Hope that cellar is ok.

Time to get dinner and then take it easy.

I've been awake since 5-00am and I'm done for.

EH - bad news my dear, sending over a hug for you and hope life turns a good corner for you too

Cellar recovering today, still quite flooded but nowhere near as bad as last time and a friend advised me to call the water board about it as it is very unusual to have this 2x in 5mths and none in the previous years, will be doing that in the next couple of days

Not much fabness here as feeling a very tight right leg and hip muscle - will be easing it off with some yoga stretches later on after tea

Good idea about contacting the water board.

A couple of years ago our garage flooded a couple of times within a short space of time. Like your cellar it had never happened before. Water board found that the storm drains were blocked and that pipes had been damaged by tree roots. They cleaned and repaired everything and we've been fine since.
