Oh and my hair desperately needs dyeing. Ther simply doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day for all the things I need to do atm. I am however making a bit of me time even if it is an hour of sh*t tv.
I hate dyeing my hair - this time as I was short on time I tried the Nice and Easy Perfect 10 and its turned out really well in 10 mins. My hair feels soft and looks shiny and it was really easy to do. Will definitely use it again.
Had a good weekend at the spa thingy - bit tired today though. Spent the afternoon walking the dog then flopped on the sofa watching Fatal Attraction, forgot how good that film was - I could be a bunny boiler if riled!
Forgot to add that the weight maintainence thing is going well - have managed to stay this weight for 2 weeks now and not be obsessive about food. Fingers crossed I can keep it up.0 -
Just been looking at the diary and I have 4 weeks to work before the Xmas school holidays and subsequently the Xmas food onslaught.
So, with this in mind I have decided to make a 4 week effort to firm up and maybe lose a pound or two that can be gained back over the food fest.
I have visitors next weekend and have a works do on the 14th but other than that I have no excuses to hold me back.
So the effort involves....- No less than 210 minutes of exercise a week (30 mins a day) - walking, running and swimming
- A bit of work on the abs area - crunches etc - to firm up the belly
- Sticking to 1500 cals a day (MFP says I should be around 1750 to maintain and its worked so far so I'll cut down just a little bit)
- No sweeties!

morning all.
Wasn't about over the weekend but had a pretty quiet one. This month will be expensive and busy enough so keeping money in check as much as possible.
Did fit in some yoga despite being lazy which I was pleased withcarpe diem

Morning all,
EH - god, I remember working in offices with the constant cakes and biccies etc being brought in. Hang in there - could you maybe have something 'healthy' on your desk, like grapes or something, then if people offer you can you have snacks already.
Hewie - am so glad your mum is seeming a bit brighter, fingers crossed things will get sorted so she can come home soon x
LL - the new house sounds lovely, am sure you could make it cosy in no time
Bitsy - I miss restful Sundays as wellmy weekends always seem to be busier than my weekdays at the moment.
ww - glad you enjoyed the spa, am liking the plan for the next 4 weeks, I might need to try and get something sorted - last ditch effort to improve for xmas
bratz - am with you on the money issue, am slightly dreading this month cash-wise. OH has no money until Jan now, I get paid on Friday and then no until after xmas - so from this wage I have to find extra for OH to live on as well as sort his birthday next week and everything for xmas - not entirely sure how I'm going to manage this yet!
Anyway, did see this morning that some of my cashback has cleared so requested it in Amazon vouchers and that can go towards xmas pressies. I don't seem to have stopped much this weekend but not been anywhere near as productive as I wanted it to be! Went to write in on Sat, which was ok, OH had a friend round Sat night so ended up having a few drinks with them. That was ok but then OH was ill most of Sunday - really doesn't know when to stop sometimes - normally I would just leave him to it but because he was in bed, and my computer is in the bedroom, which I needed for my writing, it was a little annoying. Life would be so much easier if I had a laptop! Don't think I've been good enough for Santa to bring me one though! :rotfl:Ended up having to rewrite a big section as well so still not managed to catch up - only about a thousand behind now though so hopefully can make it before Friday. Not got anything done on the dissertation or my edits/rewrite on my other story though - I need more hours in the day! Cold has moved from sniffles to cough - not sure if that's better or not? Am dosing up on vitamins and first defence.
Hope everyone is having a good day x0 -
Restful Sundays do seem to be part of my dim and distant past. Is this because shops stay open do you think... Sundays are perhaps now seen as just another day.
Whilst I wouldn't like to go back to those dismal Sundays of my childhood in the 50's when everything was closed and life just stood still, I do think it's important to take some time out now and again.
Over the last few weeks I've tried to build in some breaks, lunch with a friend - that kind of thing. I think it helps. You can only work flat out for so long, you do need to take your foot of the accelerator sometimes.
Popped into the solicitors this morning with all our documents to speed things up, and have instructed the lettings agent that we will proceed with the rental.
Just had lunch, a short rest and then it's time to tackle the loft......
Moneywise I agree December is always a heavy month. To be honest although we do love Christmas and we always make it special - we don't actually spend that much. For us it's about being together, having good times, nice food, and just generally resting and chilling out.
Just a time for family, friends and neighbours to get together and play catch up.
I always think that January to Easter is a long haul, bad weather, dark nights etc so we always treat Christmas as a time for fun and frolics and to take time to recharge our batteries and mentally get ready for the onslaught of real winter.
I will however definitely be ready for a money sort out in January.I need to get serious and stop coasting. I need to work like a demon, save, trade, invest and generally rebuild my finances. :rotfl: This will be Stage 2 of the frump to fab journey.;)

Sunday for me is usually at day at home comprimising of early morning dog walk and then exercise for me, catch up on the last bit of housework, do the last little bit of ironing then make something nice for tea and a pud and take Mr Dog out on a long weekend walk - that's my usual day with an occasional wander up to town to the shops and back.
Like to walk around a plenty too to counteract the puds and weekend treats!
On second week of phased return but certainly feeling better and aiming to increase an hour a day to get back to normal hours but need to see how I am
Have just parcelled up the sales ready to go to the post office tomorrow and Wed in 2 lots as there's quite a lot to go and have listed another 28 items to go for next weekend.
WW - I'll join in with you for the diet and exrecise plan as by the end of the week I should be back on that track again. I do a minimum on 60mins walking my dog per day x 7 days = 420 mins per week plus any exercise I do and also longer weekend walks and walks without using the car so should be easy to get there and planning on doing some more kick boxing this week as its a nice start to getting back on the exercise track again after the last 7 weeks. Went well yesterday but I can feel it in my stiff unused muscles today!
Fabwise I tidied my nails up last thing last night and ran out of time to apply the treatment, so I'd better get on with it now before I forget!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
WW - I'm in. Will work out what I'll focus on. Your 30 mins a day exercise is really good.
Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

WW - meant to say - great plan. Going to try and join in with the exercise too.
Have loaded the car ready to take to the charity shop tomorrow. Going to go through a couple of boxes tonight, then a mini manicure.0 -
Glad to see some of you joining in with the 4 week campaign.
Have managed 45 mins brisk walking today and will do the belly busting tonight when my tea has gone down.
Still within the cals for today - fingers crossed.
Am feeling a bit anti men at the moment - the majority of them seem to be so selfish and immature that I just can't be ar*ed with them. Have decided to stay on my own for the foreseeable - just me and the woofer are happy as we are.
Maybe the older and wiser I get the less inclined I am to mollycoddle and massage a man's ego and pander to them.
The stress free life of being single is the way forward for me - just can't be bothered with it all. And nothing has really happened, just sitting round waiting for the phone to ring or making plans seems to be a waste of energy. Bum to it all!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Right rant over - will resume normal service again now;)
By the way, my late gran's house has almost been sold - we got a call today from the "buyer" saying its all on the way through - we know the girl (a family friend's daughter) and it all seems pretty solid - so good news for mum at last after the renters from hell. Nice for mum and dad to have a bit of extra financial security too now they're both more or less retired (dad still does a couple of days a week).:beer:0
