My work Christmas do is £21.50 for 3 courses. I'm driving so not much extra costs for drinks and I am determined not to buy anything new for it either and am planning to wear the red shutter pleat dress I bought last year from Mat*l*n for under a tenner, black tux jacket, black shoes boots, and long silver necklace and maybe the costume jewellery collar in ivory too then find some suitable earrings from somewhere - I have plenty. The dress is quite suitable as its not revealing in any aspect at all. I just want to wear it because I have it and it needs to be worn. If I have it, I will wear it. The days of buying clothes and never wearing them are long gone for me. If I own it, I wear it!
Not much else to report apart from have done the final online order for presents including some ingredients for some more homemade bath salts, melts and lip balms to go with the homemade soap made last weekend. Final present to buy at the weekend then all is done apart from making the food pressies
Off to see mum at the weekend for a coffee, walk around the shops and then get the last pressie - a nice day!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

mine was £70 for three courses! and thats drinks extra :eek:
AND i have no idea how im getting home as its completely out of town and there will be no public transport when it finishes. think ive got a lift there but am looking at a 30 min cab ride home unless i can get a lift home too.
it was one of those where they read the words "meal" "disco" and "fairground rides" and just booked it. quite how a 3 course meal followed by booze then followed by fairground rides sounds like a good idea i dont know! apparently there is a "survivors breakfast" for those that last the night. thinking of doing it purely cz it'll be cheaper and public transport will have started up again by the time its served!0 -
Oooh Evilsquid last the night......so hardcore
My non-work Xmas do cost £42 for 3 course dinner and disco. It's Saturday night and I can't wait :jI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

My works xmas drinks now a mass leaving do is starting in W*eathersp00ns followed by a pub crawl round the Welsh capital.
Work was tough today, directors acting as normal & asking me to do work, whilst i'm looking for jobs and thinking whats the point, as of Friday I'm out of a job. They even had the cheek today to ask me to write my own redundancy letter! (I do HR but...)
Apologies for rant just had enough just need to get through next 2 days.
Eh xx0 -

Eh xx
I'm sorry EH but that really cracked me up.:rotfl::rotfl:
Tell them yes of course you will write your own redundancy letter but only on the condition that you get to write your own (glowing) reference.
Cheeky s*ds.
Have spent the evening going through our filing system. Did I really need to keep old council tax bills dating back to 1991......0 -
EH - Asking you to write your own letter is ridiculous!! Still, an opportunity to write whatever you fancy! You can make it through the next two days and then you will at least have time to think about things and start planning.
Evilsquid - good luck lasting the night! Because I wake up at about 6 every day (even weekends - grr), I can't usually stay up past midnight. All nighters are a thing of the past for me...:rotfl: Rock and roll.
LL - take it easy please!
I've been doing fabbing very well recently with make up, clothes, hair and a bit of pampering (if I do say so myself). Struggling at the moment to eat mindfully though. The last few days I have been eating quickly...and like others have said, it's been quick meals that are full of carbs. Need to pay more attention to my food and plan better. Also finding it hard to get motivated to run, as it's scarily cold outside. Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!0 -
Sorry EH I did giggle a bit. I hope the directors looked suitable shamefaced when they asked
LL I am sure I have too much stuff that I don't need to keep. Although I've been told some of the paperwork I had for childminding I have to keep for 25 YEARS :eek::eek:
anyway plans today are for an easy day. I didn't get my bath last night so I am having lunch with my mum and her friends, estate agents will be here this morning so a crisis clean with the Hoover in order this morning. All the time inbetween that is my own. Bliss. I may even plonk myself in the sofa and watch a film before school run. Nails need repainting so that can be my pamper bitOh yes.....yesterday's fast......um went a bit pear shaped
I swear I reckon I'd be better if I just didn't eat a single thing all day
ho hum Rome wasn't built in a day......
Have good day everyoneI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Walk done today. Slightly longer too.
Declutter challenge/house fabbing is focusing on using up last dregs of toiletries that are knocking around. Two birds one stone
Roll on that drink session Eh. This time tomorrow and all that.
Finally apologies for my bad memory but huge thanks to the person who suggested Oral B toothpaste. I got some for 79p from H$me Barga*ns yesterday. O.M.G.!! It's so much better than my C*lgate. So thank you for recommending itIt's a blue box with 123 on it. Brilliant stuff.
