mineallmine - welcome! the perfume every day is a great start, just small steps and putting little routines in place, and they become habit before you know it. I don't even think about the perfume now, I put a bottle out where I will see it when I'm doing my morning bits and pieces and it's just habit now. Still need to work on the make-up sometimes though
Yes I definitely need to do this in small steps. I slapped on some make up (I'm trying to use-up a foundation that I won't re-buy). I put some serum in my hair.. Now even my OH said... you look pretty. Of course none of this is about getting a reaction but it was a nice bonus
Look forward to catching up on everyones posts :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hello from me too mineallmine! It is nice when others notice that you've made an effort - gives you a bit of an incentive to carry on!
Had a good sleep and have woken up raring to go.
Going to take the dog to the park in a minute to let him have a good run around with the other dogs (its usually like a canine playgroup on a Sunday morning) then I'm off swimming for what feels like the first time in ages. Looking forward to it - a good stretch of the achey back and a bit of me time.
I have got a bit of schoolwork to do but not the usual 5 or 6 hours that I do on a Sunday.
Going to do a bit of house fabbing later and touch up the paint in the hall where its been bashed by bags and will also give my chest of drawers a tidy - its where all the winter jumpers are kept so I'll have a bit of a sort out and see what I have and what I need to buy.
Looking forward to a bit of a mooching about day and finally taking it easy - knowing me I'll be bored by lunchtime!
Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Good morning all!
Welcome to the thread mineallmine! Good reminder there about applying perfume - thank you! I've been really bad at doing that - will try PP's tip about putting it in an easy to spot place to remind myself. I keep some Lush solid perfume in my bag, so I dab that on at work if I forget perfume at home.
Time to review my progress against my mini goals for the week:
Mini goals for this week:
1.) Go on 3 runs (will have completed by the end of today)
2.) Eat what I want (and take time to enjoy it), stop when I am full, complete the journal every day and drink water Done! Feeling really positive but need to continue to resist the urge to weigh myself and focus instead on getting healthy.
3.) Epilate my legs (will have completed by the end of today)
4.) Keep on top of teeth whitening, flossing, exfoliating, moisturising, nose strips, nails, and eyebrows Done!
5.) Start writing ....Nope
6.) Sign up with at least one recruitment agency ...NOPE!!
7.) Keep my wardrobe tidy and continue to pay more attention to my clothes/appearance Done!
Goals for this coming week are the same, and I want add taking more care over my hair and applying perfume every day!
Good luck all for the coming week!
xxxNot buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!0 -
Thanks Welshwoofer and Cherryprint
Everyone is very kind and welcoming
I actually took time to put some creams on at night. Bit of eye serum, a sample tube of night cream and some hand cream. I also got rid of some pjs to charity that really were frumpy - I have others that are nicer.
On the pampering front I read this tip the other day. Using an eyebrow brush (or a narrow comb) you comb the eyebrow hair upwards. Then using fine scissors carefully snip off the unruly longer ones. You then comb the eyebrow hair downwards and carefully cut the really long ones. The idea is to get rid of the wispy bits. While doing it I comb the eyebrow straight to check I'm not getting scissor happy
I must have a think about goals. Its great reading all yours :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

LL sorry to hear DWP are at it again. Just when you think it's all over they come back and kick you again. Hang on in there you'll soon be out of their clutches!
Welcome mineallmine.
Not much to report. Have been fabbing my house and my sons. Am continuing with the 5:2 diet though have just had a rather large sunday roast. I do need to get to bed a bit earlier but I seem to be really busy atm and am finding it hard to actually do it. Have got a fair few of my xmas pressies but still a fair few to get and I also have a few birthdays to buy for before xmas too.

Had a nice day pottering about and getting a few annoying little jobs done.
Managed swimming this morning - the first 20 lengths felt quite hard but then I got in the rhythym and did a mile (64 lengths) in 35 mins - not a bad time considering I haven't been for a little while. Also took the dog out again this afternoon and got a nice bit of sunshine and peace and quiet in the countryside.
This week will be another busy one at work with meetings after school from Mon-Thurs and a very scary review meeting with the head on Thursday too. I'm well prepared so it will hopefully be ok but she's formidable at the best of times.
My little fabbing goals for this week are- 2 runs
- book a hair appointment (get paid tomorrow so its time for an overhaul)
- do a budget for the month, last month went well so I'm hoping this month will be the same
- stick to the diet (3 more lbs to go.....)
- eat well not just what's easiest
- remember to take my vitamins

Good morning ladies, welcome Mineallmine.
Just a quickie to remind you about "Magic Monday". Do something nice or give yourself a little treat. You are soooooo wrth it.:rotfl:
Lovely sunny day again so I'm going to get cracking and get out and about and just enjoy the fine weather before it leaves us and winter sets in.
This week my priority is to rejig my finances. Gotta make that budget lean and mean. There's a fair few forms to fill in which I've been putting off but needs must. This week I shall buckle down and get on with it.
It's a big elephant today.:rotfl:
Fabwise - I managed to start exercising properly again last week so I shall continue the good work. Aiming for about 30 minutes a day, yoga, exercise bike and multi-gym. And a walk each day - weather permitting.
Have a good week, and remember - Keep Fabbing.;)0 -
Not much of a Magic Monday for me as the cold and virus has come out now - decided to take the day off and keep warm and curled up inside to get over it sharpish. Now I know why I wanted to be in bed by 8pm this weekend and felt so tired last week and not wanting to exercise. Hopefully it will go and then I'll be back to normal by the end of the week
At least its a no spend day today as there's no way I feel like going anywhere today apart from the mandatory dog walking.
Have a Magic Monday everyone and fab up there!
By the way, I did have a magic sunday as I collected the sale order and got mum's christmas present holiday trousers which are great and then tried on my size 8 chino's which fitted like a dream! I'm still making my mind up about the jeggings which fit but that pattern is loud!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hope I'm not speaking too soon but I think today has been a turning point.
!. Tackled DWP about OH's ESA - they've agreed to drop the demand for the £32 a week. They've had to reduce it to £3-55, the legal maximum because OH is in a nursing home. I did my home work and just quoted the magic words "Under the terms of the National Assistance Act".... Thank you Steve from Social Services for that little gem.
A small victory for the common man -v- the faceless bureaucrats.
Stickin' it to the man - oh yeah.:rotfl:
2. Rang the pensions people to double check eveything is ok and they are not going to mess things up. Yes I know - I'm getting quite OCD these days about checking and re-checking every minor detail. Anyway, I'm in the system, and everything's on track. I asked for a quote - with all the little bits of serps and state grad bits and pieces it's more than I thought. Result!
OK I've no income for the next three weeks but who cares. I am not going to try for JSA or IS or anything that I may be entitled to. I just can't face the hassle and I don't want to run the risk of delaying my pension because I'm lost in the system somewhere.
I can manage well enough for 3 weeks.
I feel such a profound sense of relief that I'm now finally free of the DWP's clutches. The pension is mine, I've earned it and they can't take it away or reduce it. Only a Government edict can change it now. Possible yes but not probable, unless UK PLC goes bankrupt.
3. I've just had a meeting with OH's care manager and although I had no intention of making a formal complaint against his current nursing home I did let the care manager have it with both barrels.I pulled no punches. He is going to see about getting OH moved to somewhere more "appropriate to his needs". About bl**dy time.
I won't hold my breath - it won't happen over night because there will have to reviews and assessments but he did at least mention the magic words "we have a duty of care". :rotfl:
All those sales training seminars had it right "Persistance really does pay off".
I even managed a decent walk in the sunshine. My hairdryer died but that's no big deal. I can replace that easily enough.
So all in all a pretty damn good day - a Magic Monday.
Right off to ride my exercise bike and pump some iron. Then I'm going to cook paella to celebrate - might even open a bottle of something to wash it down.
Lizzie - I know you are still slugging it out with DWP - don't give up sweetie. If you badger them long enough ......
If I can win in the end anyone can.
PS - get well soon Sparkles. Have a nice duvet day - a few "guilty pleasures" will do you good.0 -
