Missing for a few days. Hope everyone is OK.
I am struggling this week. But am better then I was last week, thank goodness.
Had my hair done today, so that always helps.
But I confess to black jeans and jumper as a lazy day outfit.
I was wearing black yesterday too! oops. Better look out some colour tomorrow!.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • WelshWoofer you've managed to get so much done since finishing work! My only achievement thus far was not getting a glass of wine as soon as I got home!

Everyone seems to be getting their hair done at the mo. I haven't been to a hairdressers for a few years (TBH I can't be arsed with the small talk and coming back full of regret at my new scarecut)...but now considering it, as it might be good to get a new style? Hmm.

Fabbing update: For the first time in ages I've managed to keep my nails at a decent length and keep them painted, so that's at least one part of my body under control.

Went for another run yesterday and tonight I'm going to make up for missing Magic Monday! I'm thinking of treating myself to lots of pampering. Maybe I can convince my OH to give me a massage too! ;)

Have a fab night all xxx

  • struggling once again this week, there have been dramas at work and i've had a nightmare day. my bosses favouritism is now just getting ridiculous, i'm being put upon for supposedly urgent work while the other girl has got away with texting on her phone in her drawer and on her lap all day!

all i can think of now is it must be pure jealousy and they have all twigged that i'm the real competition and that if they make my life hell i might leave. they are lovely to me when i talk to them on their own but even now i'm starting to think its all just being two faced.

i've tried making an effort and i'm just getting sick of it all now, one of them is nice as pie to me on her own then in the office will read the work i've just printed off and chuck it on my desk. thats if they give it me at all, theyve started just taking my work if it comes out in amongst theirs and leaving it until i realise its "gone" and reprint it. its all just silly petty things! quite how this demonstrates that they are mature enough and hard working enough to get promoted is beyond me!

Evilsquid - things sound awful at work, poor you, have a hug xxxx

Had a productive couple of hours. Had tea, walked the dog round the block for his post-tea ablutions :o, washed up and tidied the kitchen, had a 30 min soak in the bath with a book, put a load of washing on, tidied out my old make up bag and threw away the tatty makeup, sharpened all the eyepencils and put it all in a nice new bag that's been in the drawer for years, cleaned my blow drying brush (its a wonder I'm not bald the amount of hair that came off it:eek:) and changed the candles in the living room. Sitting here like Bob Cratchett typing by candle light - nice and cosy though.

Have decided to go on an organised walk on Saturday to get out and about. Its not a really long one so the dog can come. Will do me good to get out and forget about work for a while.

Going to settle down for a bit of telly and an early night with the book. A nice treat that I haven't done enough of lately.......

    Hi all,

Thank you so much for all the lovely birthday wishes. Had a really nice day, managed to get a lie in, OH took me out for lunch and then went to choir at night. They all sang to me 'cowboy style' while I was blushing bright red and OH was filming it all :o but apart from that :rotfl:
A woman there had a knitting stall up, she was selling items for our charity pot, so got a gorgeous scarf - hard to describe but it's got different layers all in different shades of purple, really pretty.
Off work today but been helping OH get started on his dissertation, he's been putting it off for weeks and starting getting emails off his tutors. I may have mentioned before that he struggles with things like that and with his anxiety he starts to worry about it and then struggles more etc. So we got some research and notes started at least.
I'm still waiting to hea back on my anthology submission, so checking my emails is a stressful process at the moment :rotfl:Need to back on the others though, been a bit lazy the last few days. Have been trying to make more of an effort with clothes though and have been feeling a bit smarter going out.

    Hope everyone else is ok.
ww - wow, busy night, hope you can chill for the rest of it x
evilsquid - sorry about work, try and ignore them, any news on when the promotion is going to be up?
Cherry - I'm quite lazy and do my own hair, but then I have quite a simple style, long with layers round the front.

    Hi all
Hi Skymist - long time no see. Hope you are ok.

I'm really well LL...thank you for asking.:)

I'm still doing all the routines that I've been doing for years now in the fabbing department.....they do eventually become habitual -read easy- like riding a bike/driving a car, so you stop really thinking about them as "things to remember to do", and just do them!!!

My change to eating an all fish and seafood diet has done wonders to my skin and sleep pattern, and I have loads of energy...as well as keeping my weight constant and my body fat % down...17.2% this AM , and the arthritic pain and swelling I had in my right thumb (my computer trackball thumb) has completely gone :j:j:j!!!

Lovely to see all the continued fabbing going on, despite all the nasties that life is chucking at some of you....but when you keep going, it sticks two fingers up at all adversities, and improves one's self-esteem no end!!

    Keep at it girls!

Woke up Monday, rough as anything, cold ; sore throat. So I habent been in to see my Gran but my step mother has and shes having a nice time in the respite home thank goodness. Feeling a lot better today, just a bit weak so shall hopefully be going to see her tomorrow as I didnt want her to get my cold.

On the fabbing front, looked on facebook this morning and my local beauty place just adverised a one day special so I went at lunch time, half price hot stone massage lasting 1 and 1/2 hours....it was bliss, first time I had one and just what my aching body needed.
  • PP - I do my own hair in the same style too (long with long layers). It does save money and at least gives me control over my hair, I suppose.

claire - Ooh the stone massage sounds amazing! I've never had a professional massage but that does sound divine.

Skymist - glad you're seeing a change in how you feel because of your new habits. I don't eat enough seafood, but always on the lookout for new recipes to make stuff taste less 'fishy'. I've found exercise and green tea lately seems to be making my skin really clear.

Hope you're all getting on okay today. I went for another run at 5:30 this morning  and had too many late nights this week so felt like utter rubbish today. The run was good though!

    Take care x
