Just back from the tour of the mosque and it was really interesting. Now I'm not at all religious and think many of the religious teachings are just daft (e.g. attitide to women, homosexuality etc) not just islam but all religions, but I must admit the people there were incredibly welcoming, open and very easy to talk to. We had a talk about being a modern muslim and Islam in general, they were nice enough to let us watch evening prayers and show us around and then answer any questions we had.
Glad I went - something I would have never have done without the Spice group.

Thankfully its Friday tomorrow - will be glad to see the end of this week, its been mad! One more day!

    Hi all,

Sky - lovely to see you're still around and doing so well with the fabbing routines x

claire - hope you're feeling better, the massage sounds fab

cherry - I'm in awe of a 5.30am run - I love my bed way too much :o

ww - the mosque tour sounds interesting, I'm not religious either but I do find different beliefs interesting. I used to chat a lot with some Muslim co-workers in one of my old jobs and they told me there is a lot of things in the koran that become more relevant over time - like it apparently talks about things like dna, which didn't make sense at the time but obviously do now. Haven't read it myself though so not sure how accurate that is or if it's a bit along the lines of Nostramdus etc, where you can 'make things fit' if you try hard enough.

Anyway, went to the charity shop last night after work and have got a lovely Per Una top, it's like a grey and white lace material with flared sleeves, have it on today over a white top and grey checked trousers so feeling smarter then usual :) Am debating whether to go on an organised walk on Sunday or not, I did just get my next set of edits back this morning though so have a feeling that might keep me busy over the weekend. Will maybe see how much I get done tonight. It's miserable and rainy again here today, hoping will clear up a bit for weekend.
    Hope everyone's having a good day x

I like the sound of your mosque visit too ww. I think whatever your beliefs, or none, it's important to be informed. Without that is where predjudice and bigotry can rear their ugly heads.:Ton doing so much to make your spare time so varied.

I feel like the complete opposite to fab Friday today. It's not that I'm dressed too badly (grey skirt, opaques and long sleeved bright pink top) but my hair is yuk! It's the first of my two October weddings tomorrow so I deliberately didn't want to wash my hair today or it'll be all fluffy and flyaway when I do it tomorrow. I know exactly what's meant by a bad hair day!

    Good CS buy pod.

    Quite bright here between showers.

    Friday!:j:j:j:j

    Thankfully....

What a week - thought it was never going to end - I think its because I had such a busy weekend and didn't get a day off with all of the dashing to Wales and cleaning etc.

This weekend its going to be a bit of me time. Going on a walk tomorrow with the dog with a group - should be a nice outing providing its not pouring down.
I'm doing minimal schoolwork this weekend, just some marking and a bit of planning - not going mad after the hours I've put in this week.

Just remembered that I weighed this morning and have lost 1 lb - hurrah! :) Must be all the rushing around, food has been ok but not fabulous. Just a few more lbs to go now (3lbs).

Hope everyone has a good weekend. xx
  • We made it to the weekend everybody!!!

It feels like I've been through a fricking minefield this week workwise. So happy to have 2 days off! :j

Tonight my OH is cooking (woohoo!) so I can get on with tidying up! Our house is reminding me of that Yellow Pages advert where the guy pretends he has been burgled, but really his house is just a state. :o

I'm still doing well with Paul Mckenna's mind magic and eating more slowly. I'm desperate to weigh myself though and I'm going to find it hard to wait until the 2 weeks are up! ARGH.

Well done WelshWoofer on your weight loss! :T
Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!
  • Have been really slack again the past couple of days - both in posting and in the actually fabbing.:o

Managed hair down today (though it takes ages to dry and looks rubbish until it does) but was feeling a bit queasy so didn't do perfume. Also attempted the gym this morning but only did 15 mins on the rowing machine before giving up as my heart wasn't in it and I was feeling queasy as well.

Yesterday, I overate loads. Not as bad today but still feeling bloated. Period is due though so probably why. Did manage to Micro-Pedi and moisturise my feet again this morning though so at least I'm staying on top of those.

Contact lense appointment at the optician tomorrow. So hopefully after that I will be back to having the choice between contacts and glasses each day. I tend to opt for glasses as I suffer dry eyes and it's just easier not to have to faff putting lenses in. But still, might try and aim to do it occasionally for a change. Might then also mean I'll bother with eye make-up :rotfl:

Soooo glad its the weekend! Another long and boring week at work over and done with.

A nice relaxing weekend planned of housework, washing, ironing, cooking, baking and marmalade making along with plenty of tv watching!

Got weighed today and pleased to have maintained especially after a holiday and birthday, plus I am slowly getting used to maintaing a healthy weight and lifestyle.
    Measurements day tomorrow too.

Not much exercise this week as, for a change, haven't felt like it - must have needed a rest!

Fab wise - will be popping a facemask on at some stage this weekend and a hair mask too allong with repainting my nails - oh the fun!

Get the impression it's not been the best of weeks for many of us. Well all I can say is "Me too".

DWP, Adult Social Services, Nursing Home have all played me a curve ball.

First they stopped my ESA, then they decided they had overpaid OH's ESA, and they want £32 per week back till the end of March 2013. So I'm currently £100 a week worse off. On top of this they have decided to up my contribution to OH's nursing fees. The joke is ......I have zero income until 6th November.:rotfl:

Needless to say I've been spitting feathers.

Good job I have a nice full freezer, plenty of store cupboard essentials and I'm currently £200 in credit with the utility bills.

Anyway as my darling OH would say "That was then and this is now". And - well you know me now - I had a couple of days sulking. I've licked my wounds and now I've come out fighting again;)

Sooooo.......it's time to remember that well worn piece of advice "Don't let the B*****ds get you down."

On a more positive note yesterday I started exercising again. Exercise bike, multi-gym, just a little each day gradually building up. Today I even managed a short walk. I also went for some physio. Also went to the library.

And it was all free.:D Apart from the physio.

Ladies - I don't care what it takes but I will get through this and come out the other side. I will not be defeated.

    And neither will you.

If we think fabulous then we will be fabulous.
  • That's disgraceful LL! I understand if they overpaid but the people claiming these things are precisely the people who can least afford to pay them back at any rate! I hope you'll be ok! Xx

LL - rubbish news about the benefits - it makes you sick when others who don't qualify work out a way to claim and those who do qualify and are truthful don't.

As your fab attitude says -let us think fabulous and be fabulous! Well done on starting your exercise too.

Have a good weekend everyone and lets enjoy it fully whether we are busy, off our or chilling!
