  • Hi all,

LL, as always you are so right!! I have to admit I find it really hard to get motivated to get another job because when I get home I think "This is MY free time! I want nothing more to do with all that employment malarkey."I will have better luck convincing myself to look into other income streams though. Still, either way I need to do SOMETHING - anything - to start the process this week.

PP - yes, yes...the writing... *hides* :p I find it hard to make it into a habit. I should be writing every day at the same time ideally. How do you do it? I love National Novel Writing Month and find it easy to stick to writing during that time, but any other time of the year I struggle to do it regularly.

This week....is admittedly being taken over completely by work. Back late again today. Tomorrow will be a long day. Trying to leave at lunchtime on Friday though so I have a decent run over the weekend to do all my goals for this week!

    Take care xxx
Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!

I really must follow your lead....I've lost that first stone but fabbing has gone out of the window with being asked to do so much overtime...:o

Lizzie - I know you are still slugging it out with DWP - don't give up sweetie. If you badger them long enough ......

If I can win in the end anyone can..

So pleased for you LL, at least you can now relax on that front. Hope you sort somewhere for OH out soon too.

It must be catching, it looks as if they have put H's back money in his account without any notification as when he fetched his money there was much more than usual in. Have no way of checking until he gets a statement but hopefully it's all sorted - at least until Universal Credits appear next year.

Sorry to hear of all the work woes. DS3 (who you may remember has had a few hiccups re training etc), isn't happy with his course and tbh I'm not too impressed myself. Only a few weeks into the course and a tutor is absent (personal reasons) and there's no cover, One tutor just seems to hand them a sheet and tell them they can go off and do it wherever meaning that they frequently have hours in the middle of the day with no lessons. At the moment he is coming and going from home several times a day. A significant number of students have already given up on the course and DS3 is back to looking for a job because he feels like he isn't getting anything from the course. I don't want him to end up without any work qualifications and have tried to make him look into the longterm but he would need to complete further courses, unless he could get an apprenticeship, and atm unless this course picks up I think that would be the last thing he wants.

I've lost another 1lb this week so am still moving in the right direction slow but sure. Have also taken measurements as I feel like my clothes are looser but don't seem to be losing much. I feel much better in myself though now my swimming ring is shrinking.:rotfl:

Fabbing going ok but the looking for work/voluntary/setting up on my own is at a standstill I'm so busy atm with everything that I haven't had chance to look into anything further so apart from the usual look on internet for jobs, and there are very few nothing is happening. I do need to get onto this soon but don't want to send myself back into a depression by putting too much pressure on myself just yet.

Have my first assignment due on my creative writing course next week so am also busy with that. I'm really beginning to enjoy it now.

    Have agood day all :)

  • Good morning everyone

well been trying my best to keep up with my goals, and feeling a lot better going in to the next few months than I usually do! have decided not to hibernate till spring but make the most of the days and kick the leaves and jump in puddles.

trawled the internet and cut and pasted pictures of clothes I like on to a word document and started to make a list of items I would like in my basic wardrobe and accessories to finish off.
Managed to get a nice waistcoat off ebay for £3 so I have crossed it off my list now.

Lost 3lb at SW weigh in this week, and need to make sure I do my 15 minutes exercise each day.

hope everyone has a great day, and hugs for everyone who needs them.

    Hi all,

Cherry - I'm debating doing Nano this year, I've had things on the last 2 years and said I would definately this year. I do want to but I'm just wondering if I'm a bit mad for even considering it with all the other stuff I have on at the moment :o It can be hard to fit it the writing in, I know I don't always feel like it by the time I've got home from work, made my tea, done the tidying, done my bits for the other business etc. but it is easier if you try and make sure you do it on a regular basis. It doesn't even have to be every day, I know I don't have time on Tuesdays as I go out almost straight from work, and I usually have a night off during the week to spend with OH, and then sometimes I just need one evening to chill out - but then I try and do more at weekend to make up for it. I know I could definately do more then I do, but I have a habit of overdoing things (as people in both RL and on here are constantly telling me :o) so need to try and fit a little bit of relaxing time in as well. What kind of things do you write? Feel free to pm me if you'd like to chat more on it (I could go on for pages but will try not to bore the others on here to death!)

Rachel - glad to see you back x

Lizzie - fingers crossed the benefits are sorted now (about time!!). I feel for your DS on his course, I know OH sometimes gets very frustrated with his one but does try and think long-term -hopefully when they get the tutor situation sorted it might be better so maybe see if he can hang in there until then? Glad you're starting to get into the creative writing (ooh, we'll be turning into a group of writers on here before you know it :))

happycrafter - well done on the weight loss :j sounds like a good plan with the wardrobe, and bargins in already!

Not much to report today. After manic day at work yesterday was knackered when I got home so didn't feel up to much. Managed a bit of writing but definately under 1k words, helped OH a bit with his dissertation planning - he has a meeting with his tutor today to go through which hopefully will be useful (OH is not convinced lol!) Got my round 3 edits back on my Christmas story, hopefully this should be the last lot and then it will go for final checks and I should get my release date! Quite exciting, it's all starting to feel a bit more real now

Just thought I would share with you a picture of my daughter and I. I think the transformation is pretty complete.
This was us just before we went out on her Birthday on Monday.
