    And while [STRIKE]your[/STRIKE] you're unemployed

Hmm.. you kinda walked into that. I'll give you a tip.. don't comment on other peoples english skills online unless you're constructing your reply in word and using the spelling and grammer checker.

If as you say he is a fully grown adult, then he doesnt need his mum, and doesnt need the bed she provides or the meals she cooks or the car she owns etc etc and move out if he doesnt want to be under mums rules

How do you know the op isn't divorced, the wife has the house + child maintenance etc? It's quite common for peoples lives to fall apart and end up staying with their parents again. You're one of th keyboard warriors I was speaking about earlier because like most around here you're jumping to conclusions in order to slate those in a bad position.

Yes I see the op may not be paying full living costs at home, we can all see that, no-one is stupid but you've all derailed the topic. The op has asked a question about whether their mother is being reasonable to withdraw access to the car.

Somewhere you lot on your moral high grounds have all completely forgotten to take the high ground against bullying.

Why haven't we provided the op with a mobility car?

You can only get that on higher rate DLA. Many people are disabled but don't get high rate DLA.

    What ever.

But this thread doesn't really belong on this board.

They must be quite bad if all they can do is office work.

See, you just can't help yourself can you? That reply wasn't even aimed at you (ok the last bit was kinda) but you reply to the entire thing.

Could be anything. There are many things that cn render someone unsuitable for certain jobs but it doesn't mean they're a paraplegic stuck in a wheelchair.

Stop being so judgemental Pepper. This thread DOES belong in the motoring forum however what doesn't belong here is the criticism people like you keep putting in to it.

The issue is nothing to do with motoring. It's about how the ops mother has chosen to no longer fund their offspring, something the tax payer will have to do for some time.
    • How do you know the op isn't divorced, the wife has the house + child maintenance etc?

It's fairly well documented on the OP's posts on MSE that their age is 20. I suppose you are right and it could still be possible that they have moved out and had a disaster and had to move home again, but that doesn't really change the fact that OP is being subsidised by parents even if they do not realise it or think they are.

By the way, I think there's NOTHING wrong with parents subsidising their offspring to give them a great start in life and it's normal and natural to want to see your loved ones safe and happy. It just makes me sad that in so many cases, the children are not taught the value of money or cost of living, or they don't actually appreciate how lucky they are. I'll stop there before I go on about starving children in Africa or something... ;)

But that is relevant if the car issue was a straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. We can't judge whether they are being unreasonable or not, without knowing the full facts and, since we're only hearing one side of the story, and a highly biased to their favour side too. OP hasn't mentioned how much mum uses the car or what she uses it for, or how far her trips to and from signing on etc. actually are, or how much it cost mum to put OP in the insurance etc... so we can't comment on it in an informed way. If OP didn't want to discuss other matters pertaining to family or money, then OP should have ignored those comments rather than respond to them and open up the topic for discussion.

Well then why not ask someone to move it rather than keep digging back? There are some important points being made here that are being lost in your increasingly bizarre attempts at getting a rise out of OP. Yes, I know it's easy pickings and probably highly amusing to you, but doesn't make it right to do it.

Could be anything. There are many things that can render someone unsuitable for certain jobs but it doesn't mean they're a paraplegic stuck in a wheelchair.

OP has mild CP although that might cover a fairly wide variety of ability. Sometimes the trick with disabilities is not to see what you can't do, but what you can do instead.
Either way, it's unfair for any of us to comment on whether they are entitled to their benefits (that's between OP and the DWP, IMO), and I am sure OP would rather be fully able bodied than limited by their condition. As I say, I don't care where the money comes from, or what they do with it, but I don't buy the "I've paid my own way since I was 13" BS, and coming on here acting like the world (aka your parents) owe you when you're clearly being subsidised by them is not going to win anyone any sympathy.
This thread DOES belong in the motoring forum...

Actually I disagree. Although it centres around use of a car, it's really more about the OP's relationship with their parents. It would be more appropriate in the families area of MSE.
