I'm saving my nectar points for Xmas I think. Can you cash them in online for groceries?

you order vouchers from the nectar site (think you have to specify where you want to use them). I've used these vouchers for online shops at Sains. ;)

Does anyone know if it would work to make a pie (filling like shepherds pie) and put slices of cooked potato on the top instead of mash? I'm sure I've seen pies that like before.....

Had a really rubbish sausage & onion pie from Tesco tonight (it's friday so I don't cook proper food). Thought the boys would like it but they don't and it's completely tasteless! And we still have half left 'cos OH is sick and not eating much.....

I do not need to go food shopping. I do not need to go food shopping. I do not need to go food shopping.

My poor housemate has only just gotten her freezer drawer back to herself again!

I'm considering putting £10 per month onto a tesco gift card to give to mum to help with the food shopping at Christmas though, so she'll get £30 to help out. Are there any other good ways to put money aside? It's not realistic for me to buy food to take to hers (it has to be train travel friendly).
  • Another little shop today on top of my "friday treat" instead of taking pack up. £4.68 to add to signature!

Tescos cash machine spat out a voucher to the value of the product which just so happened to be on offer for the same value , result free biccies and a till spit for £3 of my main shopping. Well done Tesc0s :p 1 happy customer although i will save the till spit for next time. :rotfl:
Consolidated and under control 42 payments to go.

Did a mad dash around Mr T's tonight as I'm going home to Wales for the weekend and won't be back until Sunday afternoon when the shops are shut.
Managed to spend £28 - it could have been a bit less I suppose as I was doing a good impression of a Supermarket Sweep contestant :p But that did include £6 worth of dog food so really only £22ish on stuff for me and the house and that includes all food for the week (including packed lunches).
Up to £43ish now with 2 shops done for the month (next shop is next Saturday).

Am so cross with myself. Went to L!dl as planned but didn't stick to my list and spent £73.20 and then went to MrM and spent another £27. Fair enough, none of it will be wasted but am just so cross that I have spent a whole load of my budget and we are only on the 5th. I seem to have this 'stocking up' mentality and now have 14 tins of baked beans in the cupboard along with numerous packs of pasta, tinned tomatoes and tuna!

The problem is I spend loads at the beginning of the month and then really scrimp at the end. Why can't I just be more steady

Agghhhhh really annoyed with myself, just had to come on here and moan cos I know you guys would understand and DH just gives me a blank look lol!

Dinner tonight is chicken curry and dhal, the kids had s&s chicken with one of the breasts and I put the other half of the sauce in ice cube trays in the freezer so am saving money somewhere :o

Have a nice night, Jedi x

I am exactly the same!! Have been so pleased with myself for eating from our stocks but get a bit twitchy when the food dwindles! I like the feeling of having plenty at home so stocked right up again tonight and spent half our monthly budget. Oh dear..... ;)
