  • Thanks for the comments on tea. I think the consensus is that Sainsbobs basics tea is fine but you have to leave it longer to get it strong. So I will buy that next time and see if I can cope with it ;). Tea is one thing I'm usually very fussy about so we will see.

Yes we tried these from Sainsbobs and thought the same. However, T£scos basics mini juices are very good so worth a try if you can get them

Yes I agree, we usually get Mr T but thought Id try Mr S BAsics range out for my own personal experiment... I wondered with Mr S being a slightly more expensive whether their value products were better quality...

Anyway, Did a couple of shops, but think Im pretty much set for the month :D Stocked up on cupbpoard items which would keep and could make a meal of at any time.

Ive spent a bit, only four days in but Im in a much better position now that Im giving this all proper consideration! I reckon I can get through 3 weeks with only bread/milk/fresh fruit and meat :T:T

    Tesco £23.58
    Asda £12.48

Total spend to date = £50.03

Spent £2.24 in Mr M as I decided to stock up on 19p mixed herbs because a few people have said they have started to rocket in price elsewhere. I got 5 as we use them all the time. Also got half a melon for 15p and a iceberg lettuce for 15p. Best of all however was a £10 Moshi Monsters birthday cake for 99P :j: This has gone in the freezer for DS's birthday. Glad I decided to pop in!!!

    Will update signature now.

Tesco value chocolate - don' bother if you want to eat it. Ok for cooking.
Also tried the value spread/marge once - it's pretty greasy but would do at a push.

Another NSD today food wise that is :o I'm not counting the £20 something I spent on craft things for Christmas!

Can I just remind everyone about the recipe index, please. There are some very easy things to make, like Jumblejack's Herby Cheese Bread, and the 2 minute puds. It really helps to keep costs down if you make things yourself :) I know I'm probably preaching to the converted, but just in case there are some newbies out there who need a pointer in the right direction...;)

Anyway, I'm off to bed. Night night.
