Thanks for the birthday wishes! Not quite 21, but I gave up counting at 27 so I'll stick with that ;)

Spent €13 today on milk, tinned fruit and fish, GF pasta, salad dressing and butter. All set for the gang arriving tomorrow evening - making a huge lasagne, with the leftover bits of veg in the fridge hidden in it. Empty veg drawer then for the market on Saturday.

    Nearly the weekend :D

Already spent £100.11 of my £200 budget  Will maybe have to tweak my mealplan for the next few weeks to make sure I don't go over budget. Made a cheese flan for tea tonight which was fairly cheap to make so a few more meals like that are in order I think.x

I spent £14 something yesterday on most of the weekend shop early. Today was £1 on some bathroom cleaner.

Thankfully hardly anything to get at the weekend and aiming for under £10 to stay somewhere on track

Wow took me ages to catch up after disappearing for a couple of days!

Still no spends as explained above, OH has gone over his weekly budget so is paying for overspends out of his own pocket. Been lovely to have the week off and enjoy some tasty cooking, and in spite of overspending he's happy to do one week a month going forward which seems a nice compromise :D

Re value/smartprice products, I buy (usually at Mr A/sometimes Mr M or Mr T):

chopped toms/passata (OH doesn't like cooking with them so I usually have a tin or two of the more expensive ones stashed for him)
onions (taste the same but are teeny)
    kidney beans
frozen peas/sweetcorn (only frozen veg I buy - the sweetcorn is not quite as good as the normal stuff but peas are fine)
    dishbrushes/sponges/washing up liquid
    plain/self-raising flour
    butter
    pasta/spaghetti/lasagne
    biscuits
apples (they're usually massive which is weird)
ice cream (I like expensive stuff too, but this is fine for on the side of a dessert)
    mayo/ketchup
tortilla wraps (they're a little smaller but fine)
cheddar (only strong as the mild stuff is tasteless)
    lemons/limes
    kitchen roll
    tinned fruit

    Things I won't buy value/smartprice:
Meat/eggs (I only buy free range poultry/eggs and outdoor reared pork)
Coke (well I do if it's for me but OH won't touch it)
Crisps (I don't eat crisps and OH won't eat value)
Bread (I usually make my own but otherwise like the nice seeded stuff)
shampoo/conditioner (I have very long thick hair and it needs treated well!)
loo roll (used to when I was a student but it's rubbish and I'm glad I don't need to any more!)

I think I use the second purse a bit different too.
I have a few shelves to stock up on and I wanted to do it as easy as possible. So all I do is I allocate 10 pounds per week( next month I will drop it down to 5) to bogofs and offers and also some value things( like 11p noodles). I then just buy the things back at 50p,1 pound or 2 pounds which is not exactly right but I am managing to save money, so that is all that matters.lol
