Well I've read it and that 2nd purse thing is way too faffy for me!!!
I guess it's what works for you. In my house I have budgets and accounts for EVERYTHING(!) (cos I'm a weirdo like that, haha) so gunna keep my grocery challenge and purses simple....
As a household we have always had a £350 budget for shopping. If I achieve my £150 grocery challenge this month - we will have £200 to save/buy what we want.
I'm going to love this!!!!! (and so is my hubby!!!)0 -
So far we have spent a whopping £70 of our budget. Really need to reign in on spending especially as my wages have halved due o being on maternity leave!! Hopefully will have a good couple of weeks coming! xJanuary Grocery Challenge£84.49/£200:DMummy to Jack 16/07/2012:D20p Savers club Member #1120

Afternoon everyone
my october officially starts today so have been out getting a few bits like washing powder, fruit, bread, cheese etc. I can't get much as I use public transport. I did stock up on pampers wipes and palmolive shower gel. Both are 50p each in wilkinsons right now. I'm thinking of doing an ASDA order tonight. £18.14 spend
Also spent £23.94 on trampoline for my son for Christmas (suitable from 12 months). It was £40 reduced to £30 and 20% offI'm glad that doesn't come out of the grocery budget :rotfl:

NSD on groceries today. Went out for lunch with a friend, but that's from a different budget.
Dinner tonight is SnS chicken with noodles, using a shanghai garden cheapy jar of sauce.
Have to buy some fruit and veg for the weekend, but will do that tomorrow when I'm in town for DS2's swimming lesson.

Am so cross with myself. Went to L!dl as planned but didn't stick to my list and spent £73.20 and then went to MrM and spent another £27. Fair enough, none of it will be wasted but am just so cross that I have spent a whole load of my budget and we are only on the 5th. I seem to have this 'stocking up' mentality and now have 14 tins of baked beans in the cupboard along with numerous packs of pasta, tinned tomatoes and tuna!
The problem is I spend loads at the beginning of the month and then really scrimp at the end. Why can't I just be more steady
Agghhhhh really annoyed with myself, just had to come on here and moan cos I know you guys would understand and DH just gives me a blank look lol!
Dinner tonight is chicken curry and dhal, the kids had s&s chicken with one of the breasts and I put the other half of the sauce in ice cube trays in the freezer so am saving money somewhere
Have a nice night, Jedi xFinally getting my life on track. Onwards and upwards.BSC No 327GC Jan £336.91/£450GC Feb £0/£4000 -
Hi, I had my first spend this month on a Mr T order for £68.67. I had allowed myself £100 for this shop so I was really pleased to get it so under budget. :T I've made my mealplan and even stocked up on some medicines for cold and flu season! Fingers crossed that the rest of the month goes as well.:D0
