So far Asda shop £46.05 for staples and veg/fruit box and milk (we eat a lot of veg, fruit and milk and would rather cut down meat to afford from where we get them) at £26.98 so total £73.03. However, we now have enough veg and milk for probably 2 weeks so may skip next veg box, food cupboards/baking cupboard are full to the brim as is the freezer (won't need anything for these this month now at all). Total remaining £126.97 which should be more than enough if we stick to the meal plan :-)0

Just a question! I'm going to be near a Sainsburys later (the first time in a long time) and recently checked the balance on my Nectar Card. There is just over £20 on there and I thought about stocking up my food cupboard with it a bit... What do you guys spend Nectar points on?Because it's fun to have money!

re Nectar points - I sometimes use mine for extra groceries (sometimes an extra christmas stock up), but prefer to save them up and use them for a bigger spend - eg I recently bought some furniture from Argos.
just to remind everyone, there are so many online shops that give nectar points. You need to register your card on the nectar site where you'll find a list of eStores, including ebay, amazon, argos; when you buy you need to go to the eStore through the nectar site to get the points. I realised (too late) that I could have had nectar points on my last dell pc so now I check nectar before I buy anything.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Good morning, weekly shop today and going to L!dl and then to MrM for the couple of bits I can't get at L!dls. Have done a list and hopefully should be lower than normal as don't have to get any meat (unless it is on special and then can bung it in the freezer)
Am slightly cross with myself as went to the shop last night and got a bottle of wine, some bread and milk and spent £8.70 . This is not good. I blame my DH for suggesting the wine but I am so rubbish at saying no!
Have a good day all and will update spends later.....

We've spent £70.35 in Mr T and £29 elsewhere so far bringing us to £99.35/125. Not as horrendous as it sounds, as our freezer and cupboards are full. We'll need more veg and milk later this month, but not much else! And I think the hubbs is away all next week, so only me to cook for (ie invite myself round to in-laws..)Swagbucks Amazon gift vouchers 2014 125/250

a £6.68 spend in sainsbury's yesterday
bought a loaf of brown bread, but also bought flour to make my own wholemeal bread. i quite like making bread and am starting to get the knack but never tried it with anything but white flour. if any of you os'rs have any tips for me, id greatly appreciate it!
off to london :T for a few days at beginning of next week so grocery budget will not really be impacted as its comes out of holiday money, and shouldnt need to spend much on food when i come back apart from milk n fruit, as all my meals in the freezer already. trying to eat whats in there before i buy/make more!0 -
£8.38 spend in Mr A's today - got more veg as we were running low + a couple of other bits0

Thanks for the comments re: Nectar! I didn't know that so many online shops gave Nectar points! I have bookmarked the site so that I can gather more points. Hopefully I remember to do so!
Went to Sainsburys eventually. They are having a major re-fit, inside and out, so parking was a pain and the shop floor itself didn't seem particularly well stocked. Or certainly not as well as I remembered it being.
Anyway, primarily stocked up on tinned goods. Some veggies, soups, hotdogs and curries mostly. Only got mince and milk fresh. Got £16.21 worth of stuff for £1.21. It seems like you can only spend the points in multiples of £5... But I still have £6.14 worth of points! Slightly confusing!Because it's fun to have money!
