It depends on which account you've opened as this is something to think about before opening the account really. If you've opened the Premier Direct Account then you have the 6.5% interest rate on credit balances up to £2.5k for the first 12 months as well as a 0% overdraft. If you've opened the Premier Account then the prime reason for opening the Premier Account is to get the ISA that comes with it at 8.1%. There is also free european multi-trip travel insurance with the Premier account and the 0% overdraft too.

My two sisters applied online for A&L last saturday and they recieved their pin code and a/c number today, still waiting for cheque book and card.
I'm going to send off the referral vouchers today, but it says the offer ends on Mon 30th, is it going to be too late to receive the £50?0 -

I would expect they would pay out since the accounts will have been opened prior to the 30th - plus if you put them in the post today they may well receive them on Monday anyway. It may well be that they continue the promotion after that anyway and simply change the dates on the vouchers - we'll see on Monday. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yes. I wouldn't do it on the same day though, just to save any possible confusion. As long as the money coming in, or back in, is from a non-A&L source, it will count. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

If you mean transfer it into the savings account opened for you by A&L then no you can't as, like Stephen says, the money must come from an external source. The best thing to do, if you can, is to set up a standing order from your current bank account to go to your A&L one and then a corresponding one to transfer it back again. That way you wouldn't have to worry about it. If you did want to do it with cash though then it would be best to pay it in one day and withdraw it again the next (remember most banks only allow you to take out £250 a day at a cashpoint anyway so you may need to make a couple of trips to do this.)

Do or have other banks offered these type of referral your friend schemes?0

There is no need to 'overnight' any deposits made this way IME. If you have an A&L overdraft of at least £250 use that to withdraw and immediately (same day) recredit at a PO. Do that two days running and that meets the £500 external funding rule.mleonard79 wrote: »IIf you did want to do it with cash though then it would be best to pay it in one day and withdraw it again the next (remember most banks only allow you to take out £250 a day at a cashpoint anyway so you may need to make a couple of trips to do this.).....under construction....
