I can put in £500 and then take it out the next day and do this every month?
As masonic says yes you can do this or you can even do it with smaller amounts as was highlighted further up the thread (ie you could put £100 or £250 in at a time then take it out and pay it back in etc until you've reached the £500 requirement.) So you don't even really need to have £500 a month spare to play with in order to run this account. If you do have the £500 spare then it's probably easiest to just set up two standing orders from another bank account so you then don't need to worry about it.

Sorry plzhelpmesave but you need to be 21 or over to open a Premier or Premier Direct Account. I don't know of any flagship bank accounts you could get under 18 and most set the limit at 21 I think.

Do other banks have offers like this? [refer a friend and get £]
Hi Nrishiraj,
I don't know of any that have refer a friend offers similar to the A&L one to be honest but certain banks occasionally offer incentives for switching to them (I know Halifax were offering £100 to switch up until the 23rd of March for instance and RBS sometimes offer a similar deal but this is usually linked to where you live.) I also know you can get £25 from quidco for opening a cahoot account but apart from that I don't know of any other current offers.

Hi Nrishiraj,
From looking at it it's actually £25 for their savings account and only £20 for the current account - you can see the details HERE. You'll need to open a quidco account though if you don't have one and they'll take £5 from your first payment as a yearly fee.

I've just opened this account.
For reference, when can I close the account?

At the moment, I brother has an existing account with A&L, he's gonna refer me, does he also need to show £500 per month in his account?0 -

Yes your brother has to follow the terms and conditions of the account as well for you both to qualify for the £50 incentive so he will have to meet the funding requirements by paying in £500 p/m too.
As far as when you can close the account goes you can close it at any time so if you've only opened the account to get the incentive then you could close it once this has been paid out. There are good benefits with the account though for the first 12 months at least though.
