Oh, we usually see them written as UKPPO but again this is not a big player - a very small fish in the PPC World pond. Never heard of them doing Court and as you are too late for POPLA you are just in 'ignore mode' like the good old days before POPLA existed.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm in the same position as the fella above. Stopped in NCL airport to let someone off, just on one of the access roads. They got me on camera and claimed an alleged contravention of some rule. Then went on to claim a charge of £100 reduced to £60 for early payment. What is the ruling now? Still ignore or appeal then go to POPLA?

If you're not beyond the appeal stage then in most cases the advice is a short soft appeal to hook a POPLA code, then hit them hard via POPLA (important, only with help from the forum).

But before any more information, please start a new thread then there's no confusion between info given here to you, or to the OP or anyone else pitching in on this thread.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

You are not in the same position. He's too late to win at POPLA, you are not. There's no 'ruling' (this isn't a real fine, not a statutory thing).

  • hi
I was parked in a street of Manchester last night at 20:30.it was my understanding that parking is free as from 20:00.but this morning I found a small packet on my car with a ticket fine inside saying that I have to pay £6o within 14 days or £100 after that period of time. The reason is ,I quote'The vehicle was parked on private property in contravention of the site parking restrictions as displayed on the signage or permit'.I did not notice any signage or did not look as I thought parking was free after 8pm and it was not a residential area.
I am confused'can you help with some advice please? thank you.

You're posting on a thread that's almost 2 years old, much of the advice might now be well out of date.

You do need to start a new thread of your own, as we work on the basis of 'one case, one thread' so advice doesn't become confused and/or we have a complete free for all with any number of random cases being tagged on.

But first of all you do need to read thoroughly the NEWBIES FAQS sticky at the top of the forum index (one page back from here) which will give all of the initial information you need. It was written by Coupon-mad, one of the country's most knowledgeable people in dealing with private parking tickets. You won't find anything more comprehensive than this anywhere online.

The sticky is detailed and you might need a couple of 'passes' to digest it, so bite sized chunks with a cup of tea over a couple days might be the best approach. You do need to make the effort to do some research via the sticky before asking for further help from regulars - we are so busy each day it's impossible to type and constantly repeat basic information - hence the sticky with all that stuff covered. But do come back after reading it if anything isn't clear to you.

However, - via a new thread of your own please.

For about SIX months I have received threatening letters from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd who claim to be acting for ParkingEye Limited.

I have ignored every one of these letters but am getting a little tired of the threats they make to litigate if I don't pay up.

DRP don't seem to talk to ParkingEye Limited because had they done so they would realise that the "ticket" my wife was issued with was cancelled a long time ago.

This got me thinking that someone needs to send a clear message to DRP that repeatedly threatening an innocent party with financial penalties could be a criminal offence?

So my question is should I report DRP to the Police for Harassment under section 1 of the Malicious Communications Act 1998?

Why don't you start your own thread instead of resurrecting this ancient one and you might get some bespoke help with your query ;)
