  • Heres a few snippets from the daily mail review.

I quote " Android handsets have made huge advances in recent months, and handsets like the Galaxy S3 were almost on a par with the iPhone 4S"

"the iPhone 5 now puts clear water between Apple and its competitors"

"Apart from the hardware, Apple has completely overhauled it’s iOS software"

Something cant be right with the last quote? when i last looked the software didnt look much different from my 5yr old iphone.

Sort that out and im back baa'ing!

Some readers might be anti-apple and never going to buy or use apple product and might just stick to the bad points only because it fits their way of thinking.
I haven't seen any anti Apple comments in this thread, only comments about the impartiality of the 'reviews' you posted above.
Most professional reviewers do the article based on the placement of the product in compare to others based on the price and specification
Which these reviews haven't done. They've compared it to the previous iPhone only, no mention of the competitors such as the Galaxy SIII.
No professional writer would like to be known for pro or against certain product as this can reduce the readers.
How do you explain those reviews then? They come across as completely pro iPhone.
  • And another page is added to the endless internet argument about iPhones.

Its pretty clear by now that people who buy iPhones do so because they like the OS and the apps, and they'll pay a significant premium to have an Apple phone because they're seen as being desirable.

Few of these people care what the latest Android phone is like because they wouldn't be seen dead with one, so whats the point of comparing them.

As soon as Android nerds start droning on about pixels and frame rates and teraflops it just confirms what Apple people already think about people who have Android phones and makes them turn off even more.

People want to know whether they will like it compared to the iPhone they currently have, not compared to a phone they already don't want.

It seem some of posts are from people who don't like Apple products. The odd thing is these people still follow the iPhone release, read and write posts.
Why many writers don't like to compare with named product?
Most professional writers do the article based on the placement of the product in compare to others, based on the price and specification without starting vs war. No professional writer would like to be known for pro or against certain product as this can reduce the readers.

Why only compare with S3, why not with Nokia 920 which is better then S3.

I haven't seen any posts in this thread to back that statement up. If you can find any, I'd like to see them.

You've basically copied and pasted what you wrote in post #11 which I replied to in post #13, have a go at reading that post.

I said phones like the SIII as Android phones are the main competitors at the moment, no one has had a proper look at the software of any of the WP8 phones (including the HTC 8 phones) yet so you can't really consider them to be competitors yet.

Yes, I'm sure The Register are blacklisted for the way in which they reported about Apple.

Newspaper reviews are truly abysmal. It's clear the journalists know very little about the products and the end up regurgitating press releases verbatimto keep the status quo with Apple and to keep Page impressions high to keep the editor hppy with advertising revenue.

LOL. I'm suspecting TomTom are going to 'get it' for this bit of honesty.
TomTom said it provided only data and was not responsible for how it worked.

Thinking about future orders, shouldn't they have taken one for the team here? :D
