Aquired Cat and Pregnancy!! Updated

We have moved house and the old owners have left there cat behind - know this from speaking to neighbours. We have just accepted responsibility for her, and i have no expirience of any animals.
We havent yet taken her to the vet, but i do have an appoinment on Friday for a consultation about jabs and microchipping etc. As she was already outside i foolishly thought she would have already been spayed
Anyways this past week she has had a much healthier appitite, become alot more affectionate and her nipples are more prominant. So it would appear she's pregnant.
Now i was fine with loving and caring for her but kittens - what am i going to do!! Im assuming the vet won't spay her now - how will i know how many weeks pregnant is?
Does anyone have any advice for me please?

I would contact the local Cats Protection League - they'll be able to offer you advice on caring for the mum & perhaps help out with rehoming the kittens a bit later on

it wont let me post a pic - as i am a new user.
I guess i will just continue with the appointment at the vets on Friday - I hope he will be able to guestimate at how far gone she is0 -
Just wanted to say - PusPus, thank you for having the kindness to take the poor cat in. Leaves me speechless with fury that you can 'leave a pet behind...' (I'll bet your vet will have an idea of other clients that might adopt a kitten; our vet has a circle of clients who foster for her when she's too full for another stray.) I will cross my finges for the best outcome for you all and do keep us updated!0

He may be able to do an emergency spay, which would solve your problems.0

I had thought about this, but i guess it will depend on how pregnant she is. I have googled all morning too see if there are any signs at certain weeks but with no success.
Shes such a beautiful cat, i cannot understand why anybody would even consider not doing right by her. Shes a lovely grey with ginger and white sort of stripes. She has started ruining our sofas though :mad:0
