quidco - some sneaky affiliates not paying out

Has anyone taken out Direct Line car insurance through Quidco? When I click the link it takes me to the direct line home insurance site where I then have to navigate to the car insurance page. I don't want to risk taking out the policy through this way and missing out on £100 cashback!£2009 wins - Vodkat Cocktail kit :j

Not too happy about that but in principle and when your transactions track it's a good site.
I have had the same problem with a Barclays contents insurance. The cashback was supposed to be £125, and when I raised an enquiry, I even quoted the policy number. Told that enquiry is 'closed' so I assume that I won't get my cashback!!
Extremely peeved, cos I wouldn't have gone with Barclays if it hadn't been for the cashback.

I then cancelled the order and placed another via quidco with carphonewarehouse, hoping for cashback again. I then find there is a problem with the order and I ended up ringing them. It turns out they needed to do the credit check again, and I was given another ref number.
No doubt this cashback will be declined!
Quoted from Quidco's dialaphone page: "Please read the following before proceeding:
This merchant may report initially as "declined" and then change to "tracked" when the order is confirmed. This can take over six weeks."
So when your tracking for dialaphone showed as declined this was not due to the phone call you received but is normal with all transactions with them (maybe to make sure that people won't cancel after receiving the cashback).
I bought a contract phone from dialaphone through quidco last January. The tracked transaction showed as declined for the first 6 weeks then it changed to tracked and has changed to received last week. Now I await £50 to reach my bank account next week :j .

This is just terrible , I feel for you . I went through quidco in March for my insurance with Barclays the £125 showed as tracked less than 24 hours later, it was validated about a month later and is now showing as received.
Did you take any screen shots when you did the insurance?
I really hope you manage to get this sorted as £125 is a fair amount of money to be messed about over!
I do think that with the Barclays cash back if it's not tracked within 48 hours I'd be tempted to cancel the insurance( as you do have a cooling off period), then try doing it again through quidco ,taking screen shots as you go ."Every time you feel yourself getting pulled into someone else's nonsense, tell yourself: Not my circus, not my monkeys." - Mark Borkowski.

I went through quidco as well for lloyds insurance, tempted to cancel it now as it was only cheaper when cahsback was taken into account. Nothing is showing up on my quidco yet and its been 3 weeks.DEBT: £500 credit card £800 Bank overdraft

I also have Boots and Unibet pending since last year, so it's a bit annoying and feels like no one is doing anything to chase this up
Quidco are useless at chasing claims- all you get is a standard email that they chase them once a month.
I had one claim outstanding, but Quidco would not take any notice the emails that I sent, they only replied with thier standard reply" We chase outstanding claims once a month" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was the first & last transcation that I made with Quidco.
I now use Rpoints who are reliable. Their cashback is less than Quidco, but they will also match Quidco, if you apply for a match. You will have to do this for all transactions, but they are hasle free & provide good service.0 -
I took out car insurance with Lloyds TSB thru quidco last year, and did get my cashback eventually - I had to raise a query with quidco, who took it back to lloyds, provide further information, back to lloyds and so on. I took out the insurance in June 2006 and recieved the cashback Jan 2007. I think sometimes you just have to be persistent.
I've gone through one of the other insurance offers on there this time for my car insurance renewal, so will see what happens with that one.Live on £4000 for 2008 Challenge No. 27:eek:0 -

Topcashback are really good at chasing merchants unlike Quidco who seem to be bad at tracking as well.0 -

I think its something to do with there rubbish computer system. I collected all 3 orders from instore, but 6 months on there system still shows them as waiting to be collected. As if I would pay and not collect!!!
I had this problem tooACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0
