Yes I understand what you mean. It's all a bit faceless and at times it's worrying, especially when you make the decision because the cashback element makes the whole deal cost-effective.

On Greasypalms' site there is a 'test' you can do to ensure that your pc is tracking successfully. Quidco don't seem to have that facility.

It's good that you persevered, and that in the end you got your money.

But the tracking mechanism is the same on every cashback site.

If it works on greaypalm then it works on Quidco.

If so better to get double the money and off to Quidco!!!

Yes, I know thet the mechanism for tracking is the same. But with Greasypalm you can actually test it, whereas with Quidco you cannot. Not all retailers are affiliated to both sites. Also, there might be the danger that if you tracked via Greasypalm that your purchase later on via Quidco might not work properly because your pc has a cookie stored that remembers the track via Greasypalm!
  • I took out Barclays home ins in Dec which took a while to pay because nothing paid out until I had paid Jan and Febs DD
I also did Pruhealth for the gym membership - the original quote and DD was done on-line in Jan but I still had to speak to them on the phone about several things, despite this it still paid out, after the first dd came out on March 1st they paid Quidco on 30th.

I took Barclays home insurance up December, queried it not tracking on the 10th Dec. I got an email asking me for loads of policy details within 3 days and have never heard anything. It was my first (and conequently only) transaction through quidco. The only other site I use is pigsback so it hasn't credited elsewhere, and they've (Barclays) been collecting my £ for months.

I can get it cheaper elsewhere, so I'm going to move it. I only went to them for the £££ anyway, as it's never more than £23 for my combined policy!

My TSB car insurance has been received. Think I even phoned them as well after I received a letter. I believe I even phoned them straight after the transaction was completed online just to make sure I could drive my car straight away.

My sister-in-law used Alliance & Leicester for a personal loan; same terms and conditions, i.e ALL of the application has to be carried out WHOLLY online.

She turned down the option online of Payment Protection Insurance as the loan was only over 12 months and she's been with her employer for 27 years and they have very generous sick/redundancy schemes in place.

Not content with one screen trying to sell her this PPI, she encountered a second screen informing her of all the problems she was bringing upon herself by not clicking Yes to it. She clicked No again.

Surprise, surprise, her email notification asked her to call an 0845 number for her loan decision, whereupon she spent 15 minutes on the phone (at her cost) whilst the person at the other end tried to flog her the same PPI.

Her cashback hasn't tracked yet and this was February...........you're dead right, it's a scam and Quidco should wisen up to it.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me

have made an enquiry but have not heard anything - quidco have sent details t A+L but no response since Feb. Grrr!
  • Just checked & I have been paid £125 for my Barclays Home Insurance fine, the only MAIN site I have problems with is Valueflora - all done wholly online through Quidco but I am still owed around £40.

I have exactly the same problem and am so annoyed with Quidco. I purchased car insurance with screentrade via Quidco back in Feb and am still waiting for cashback to be applied to my account. Screentrade are supposed to be a surewotsit retailer but all in all it has been hopeless. I queried as soon as I could on Quidco and had one standard email back telling me to wait another week....waited a month extra and emailed back this week and surprise surprise have heard nothing!!
Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!
:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!

I have a payment oustanding from Woolworths from Oct 2006 and PC World from Dec 2006, both for orders over £400, both declined with Quidco, are they worse than Greaseypalm? should I consider giving quidco the boot ?

I have had 3 separate orders for woolworths declined. They all tracked ok. When it came to paying they have declined them all. I think its something to do with there rubbish computer system. I collected all 3 orders from instore, but 6 months on there system still shows them as waiting to be collected. As if I would pay and not collect!!!

I have had the same problem with 1 order but others are all ok

I have a purchase from Marks & Spencer's which has been in the 'tracked' column since December 2006. Although it's not as much as some people are waiting for it's still quite annoying as all transactions since have been paid.
