I found what could be a sneaky way for affiliates not paying cashback. I bought a car insurance policy from Lloyds TSB via quidco in January. The cashback reward was £130.
The T&C's of quidco cashback say that ALL of your transaction has to be completed ONLINE for the affiliate to pay out.
Surprise surprise, a week later I get a letter in the post from Lloyds. 'Can you please call us to verify something'... they dont state what it is that I have to verify so naturally this gets me suspicious. I called up, and all they wanted to know was what I did to my previous car which was insured ...
Me: 'errr...i sold it'...
Them: 'Ok thank you sir, thats all we need. Bye'
Although I didnt think much of it at the time, to date I have not received ANY cashback from Lloyds, nor is there any record of it at quidco having been tracked or rejected. COuld this be a sneakey way of gaining business through quidco and not paying out? Has anyone else experienced something similar ?
Do you really think a multi million pound company would go to the hassle of this?
The nomral day to day staff will have no knowledge at all of Quidco or the like. One or two in the marketing site will.
It will be because they genuinely needed to find out some information before accepting you. I doubt this is why your cashback has failed to track - more likely a cookie or another annomally0 -

It's how they stay a multi million pound company, by not paying out on things, oh that and illegally taking extortionate bank fees.
Fair enough a genuine enquiry perhaps from Lloyds TSB but generally what's the relevancy to the new policy? As far as I knew you were allowed to insure more than one car and also sell your car without telling anyone apart from the DVLA.
I hope Quidco gets this sorted and maybe makes some headway in peoples claims, otherwise it takes the shine off what is a great idea for us Msers.:A :

Im sorry but your completley misguided with another bash the bank comment! We all need these organisations to do well to benefit us all
Course you can buy and sell without having to tell anyone other than DVLA. However the insurer can also ask any questions it sees fit.
The point i am making is that the policy has been bought and payment arranged online therefore i would be confident just because someone has called that this is not the reason for Quidco not tracking.0 -
Lloyds Bank.....me too.
I took out Home Ins a couple of months ago. It didn't track, and I too have had an enquiry in with Quidco for several months.
I seriously wonder the legality of this. Retailers such as Lloyds offer the cashback, and so, whilst the site says nothing is guaranteed, it would be an interesting Legal challenge if somebody were able to go for it?O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.

What would be the legal challenge though?
It states it isnt guaranteed so what could you base your argument on?0 -
I got mine straight through no problem at all.
The only problem was Quidco asked if they could pay by BACS not Paypal.0 -
You may have a point, but I just wonder what the premise of....'if you are lucky, we may pay you....' means?
Don't get me wrong, though, my cashbacks paid over around 6 noths have been around £500, so I wouldn't risk 'breaking' it!O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.

Dont get me wrong - ive got about £150 of missed transactions in enquies but just put it down to one of those things.
To be fair they where all in the first month before i religiously deleted all cookies before buying anything0 -
Maybe its just a way for Quidco to make some more money. After all, they say they only take £5 of your earnings per year.
That won't go far will it!!!!0
