  • Thank you evcakes, I need to take a leaf out of your book! I definitely need to be stronger and I think people will respect me for that, rather than saying yes initially then making up excuses afterwards- I find it so stressful.

Homemadehappiness and ladybird, yes, I am now looking forward to the spa day and am paying for it with my Christmas money so won't affect my budget. Thanks for your support.

Hope your son is warmer with the heater crystal, must be a difference from Australia!

Someone is coming to view the car at midday- couldn't get here before cause of the weather. Fingers crossed that'll be another £2000 off debt.

    Will update later- cleaning time!!

  • Yes thanks HMH, the viewing of other car went well and we got a good price - we hope to have almost £3000 to past off cc, and a bit left to buy a run-around. Wish we didn't need a 2nd car, it impossible without one - DH and I work in different directions and both use the car throughout our working days.

So we now frantically looking for the perfect run around ASAP!

Also, need to check which cc has highest APR and make sure the £3000 is paid off that cc.

Next we need to sell the house..............

I am exhausted again tonight so off to bed with a cup pa.

  • Thanks guys- we are delighted. Cant wait to pay a big chunk off cc.

The snow has been pretty bad here all day and is very heavy tonight. Hope I'll be ok to get to work tomorrow.

The snow has also hampered DHs efforts to view some run-arounds!!mind you, it's not exactly driving weather.

I was sent home early today and used the time to sit, relax and read. It was lovely, previously I'd have spent the time cleaning and seen no benefit, so although I feel a little lazy, I am trying to chill out a bit and do things I enjoy.

We have some friends coming to stay the weekend, weather permitting- I need to think of some cheap meals to cook. Was thinking of trying the slow cooker again, anyone have any suggestions?

Hope everyone stays safe and warm.

  • Morning,

Well done GL I bet its a great feeling.

Chilli is always a good one in this weather and cheap to do, I make mine with baked beans as I don't like kidney beans.
The weather is ok here, slow is slowly melting and not had anymore over night.
I spent the evening looking at cars, we plan for dh to drop me off initially when I start work but really I need a little economical car to get me from a to b. not sure what yet, hoping only to spend around a £1000.
Glad you enjoyed the relaxation, definitely don't feel guilty.

    Have a good day C x
