Thanks guys.
DH has bought his run-around car, cost a coupler of hundred more than we planned but is lower mileage and slightly newer than we planned. By the time we insured and taxed it, I had £2500 to put in the bank, that will now go to pay whichever cc bass the highest APR, need to check which one that is.
Its freezing here, wrapping up to keep warm as the heating is full blast and its still chilly! Its -9 here already!
Got friends visiting this weekend, the meals will be cheap and cheerful and the aldi wine will flow!
So will prob not check in again til Sunday so wishing everyone a good weekend, look forward to catching up with everyone soon.

Thanks guys, had a lovely weekend but it went as quickly as always!
Have had NSDs so that's great. Spent this afternoon catching up on washing, cleaning and ironing.
Work again tomorrow - cant complain, know I am lucky to have a secure job (I hope), in this current economic climate.
My plan this week is to continue with list to make home improvements to help us sell the house. However I really want to concentrate my energies into further simplyfing life. Despite the title of my diary and my resolution to have a more simple life, I feel I am still chasing my tail, working full-time and not having enough hours in the day.
My fantasy is still to move to somewhere very remote, not worry about needing a car or computer, eat simply and have time to enjoy the day. This will not happen in the near future, I have a son we need to get through school, we have to pay our debts and I have parents I care for - but who knows what other future holds - in the meantime I will aim to simplify as many aspects of my life as possible.
I think it doesnt help that I am always thinking and planning what I need to do next and I never completely 'shut-off' - think this is why I often feel stressed. Hopefully if the house sells and we move to a smaller, cheaper property I will feel more settled and have less to worry about.
Sorry for rambling- need to get my bum in gear to do the diy to the house.
Hope everyone is well, have a good week.

Morning GL,
Glad you had a good weekend.
Know what you mean about constantly planning and not being able to switch off. But planning is good, what about writing things down and then closing the book and leaving them to one side. It seems to work for me.
We are also desperate to get on and sell the house but to be honest not a spare penny to do jobs at the moment so it will have to wait.
Off to update my diary, have a good day at work Crystal xLBM 13th Jan 2013 beginning DMP March 20130 -
Morning GL
Just caught up with your diary (should be working really!).
Glad you enjoyed your weekend and congrats on selling the car :T
I've also thought about selling mine, but after paying off the loan, I wouldn't have enough left to buy something reliable enough to get me to work each day.
Good luck with the DIY. I've just had a few days off work and haven't managed to do even half of what was on my listNext £0.00 Aqua £470.00

Thanks guys, always helps to know I'm not alone.
Good day here, just paid £2500 off nationwide cc - hope to concentrate on paying rest of nationwide in coming months, hope to be really strict.
The large payment is from the car sale and so far DHs banger is going OK.
DH going to speak to estate agent in next couple of days about next strategy to sell the house - hope we get some viewings soon.
I'm cream crackered tonight so off to bed with my book.
Night all,
