Tell me about TalkMobile - thinking about a contract for sons birthday
    TalkMobile?
    Talkmobile network

Search tool is still working fine for me, and you can find many other threads if you use it.
  • Something wrong with opening a new thread.
  • I'm with them - I got the crazy £16/mth free HTC One S deal (phone since sold!) 200 mins/500texts/truly UL data deal a few months ago and have to say the experience so far has been a pleasurable one. I had to contact CS twice on the first day of receiving my phone due to stuff I wasn't sure on and both times the CS was exemplary. Which surprised me taking into account who own them. Billing has been fine as well.

PS If you go for them don't forget to go through Quidco/TCB as there are some great cash back incentives knocking around (eg TCB pay £35.35 for the £8/mth sim deal with min 6 months commitment making the deal just over £2/mth net!)

Managed to get 12 month blackberry with talkmobile, 10 months free on plus TCB.
12 months on and now nearly at end of contract and no similar cheap deals around - GRRRR.
Apart from the outage that blackberry had last year, no problems for me with talkmobile - billing is clear and simple online.

    I'm on talkmobile - got HTC Desire C (sold for £110 on Ebay) + 5000 text + 500 mins + 500 data for £10 month for 24 months

    Pretty happy with that

My house is in a very low signal area - only carrier that will penetrate our brick walls is vodafone/talkmobile so great for me

Dunno whether Vodafone have cranked up the signals nationally but in the last week my signal had gone from very low to maximum :D

    Hope it stays that way
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

I found customer service wooful, wanted me to pay for bills when they would not unbar (seemed like this was issue) or replace that sim - they didnt know what was causing issues nor cared resolving them and tried to back bill me 2 years in late 2010 for a service the sim would not work on that I cancelled due to the above, shocking care. Never did get my £6pm for over previous two years back  but I got peace, they sent it to debt collection & everything.... but then it is a Car Phone Warehouse brand, owners of Talk Talk.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

If you go via CPW - don't get it delivered to store - as it gives them an excuse not to pay cashback.

I went for the Lumia 710 at £7.50 per month - but i'm sending it back as they have declined cashback.

And if you're getting a handset you'll lose your DSR 14 day protection if you collect it in store

I was going to buy my Desire/contract 'over the counter' when i asked the guy (who spent half an hour & sold me the whole deal) whether they have a return policy if i dont like it - 'nope' was the answer - so told him i would buy it online instead - so he lost the sale - and he didn't know why until i explained it to him :o

bit strange CPW & other stores that also have online outlet dont just dont adopt similar sales policy for 'over the counter' sales to save them losing sales

i'm sure it will dawn on them eventually - but goes to show that unless the law beats them with a stick, a lot of pretty high profile companies dont recognise good customer service (and the sales that go with it), even if it sat on them

  • I would never even consider collecting from store when next day delivery to your door is free and as JethroUK says, with all the extra consumer protection that effectively gives me. But I guess it depends if someone is in during the day to sign for it.
