Son being bullied/assulted at high school

  • So again, have you been to every school in the country? No.
Do you know every teacher in the country? No.
    So you cannot say that.
But to be fair - neither do you. It's awful that you had a bad experience, but that doesn't mean that as a profession teachers don't care or don't want to do anything or that most schools don't care either. (I'm not a teacher btw!)

it always surprises me that things that go on in school are not treated the way it would be if you did the same thing to someone on the street , assault is assault where ever it takes place ,
  • No mother would put up with her child being physically bitten and emotionally abused unless they were looking for ways to increase their benefits.

    ETA or self interest.

Really? can't believe this has been said, both my husband and I work, claim NO benefits, I am thinking of the doctors so he can have help in dealing with this mentally!

On monday (day of meeting) he was punched in the stomach, emailed the head teacher that night got nothing back.

On Tuesday, where staff have been put on 'high alert' a yr 9 boy grabbed his bag and threw him on the floor!

I emailed the assistant head informing him of this and the lack of communication from the head, he said he will phone county council, they are contacting the other school to see if there is a place for him.

The trouble in changing school with county council is:
the school have to be given time to sort it out
I cannot remove him from school- this goes against US

Therefore I am stuck, hopefully it will be sorted by the end of the day, I will let you know, thank you again for all your help, opinions and support.

After sending a copy of the email to the assistant head, he called me and said he would ring county council and ask them to move him although he cannot fully support our decision because they had no time to put it right.

I called norfolk cc this morning and she confirmed he had rung and she would be calling the other school to see if there is a place, it was confirmed this afternoon. He starts Monday.

He came home from school today in a mood, a boy on the bus had pulled his ear!

Needless to say we are over the moon, the stress has lifted, he is keen to get out of the school but obviously nervous. Thank you again for all your support :)
  • Fantastic. Tell him to say his goodbyes tomorrow - can you keep him off on Friday.

Hopefully this is a step forward and a new start for him. How does he feel about the move??

He was not happy at first because he was upset about what happened on the bus but he is excited/nervous about a new start away from the kids.

Pleased he does not have to go back to that school again, only wants to go in to say goodbye to a couple of mates, more concerned about losing them as X box friends!

Going to the bus to come home, another year 9 boy shouted 'Ricky is dyslexic' (which is ssomething else he has had to put up with, as well as being called stupid/thick etc) which just about somes it up!
  • If he wants to stay off we have no problems with that, if he goes in and anything happens he can call his dad and he will pick him up (I'm at work)
  • I would just send him in for his goodbyes and then let him stay home on Friday. Tell the school that the other incident was the final insult. If he is not that bothered about tomorrow either and he can contact his friends on Xbox, let him do that. or go get him at lunchtime.

I hope he gets on well, of course he will be nervous but hopefully he can start again. Just get him to say that he has moved because it is nearer your job or something, not that he was moved because of bullying. I moved schools because I was being bullied, it did not take too long to settle in.

    Yes 'really'.

You know that your child is being abused!
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!
