One of the problems with the great british workforce...Its not ny job ...unbelievable
Having said that 10 minutes wasnt long to wait but the assistant "its not my job" could have handled it better
How exactly? She refused to carry it to the car and we have no idea of what she said or the way she said it, she could have been apologetic and explained politely why she couldn't carry it for all we know, then she got another colleague to do it. What else was she supposed to do?0 -
As so often, this thread seems to polarise people into extreme views.
Why can't people just use a little bit of common sense and try and view things from the other person's POV.
Yes, Currys were probably lacking in customer service in that they should have been able to find someone to carry a box out of the shop in less than ten minutes.
No, it isn't the end of the world and it isn't any reason to stop shopping there forever. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Would I heck.
And I wouldn't expect any of the Currys workforce to either.
As I said that is the problem with the british workforce, "its not my job"
Sod customer service, I shop a lot in the USA its a completely different experience over there all the assistants WANT TO HELP0 -

No we dont know exactly what she said other than she refused and then the customer had to ask her if someone else could help rather than her offering to get someone to help.
It seems to me that most on here are quite happy with the satndard of customer service in retail in this country, to me, for the most part it is shocking.
As previously said tho waiting 10 minutes is not a reason to stop shopping there0 -

it is a sign of other things being wrong int he company. if that is the service they offer when making an expensive purchase it will almost certainly be terrible if there are any problems.
if they dont have staff to carry things to cars then it suggests there is serious corner cutting going on. how many of the items will they claim are out of stock cos noone can be bothered getting them from the warehouse. how many things will be sold unchecked and turn out to be faulty. where will the quality control be, how many of the goods will be fake?0 -

Over reaction.....Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Perhaps they should have offered to drive the OP home and cook her evening meal for her?0

Top marks for over reacting
Firstly they did have staff to carry things to your car, you just had to wait a few minutes - most probably for one of the staff members assigned to the warehouse to become available
Secondly why would a SALES person claim an item was out of stock when it was instock, we've established via point 1 it wont be the sales person who fetches it
Do you really believe Currys check everything before selling it? They'll be a few samples sent in for testing at head office, a check of the safety certificates and thats it, the same for every retailer who buys that product with the intention of selling it on
Fake goods - wouldn't happen, the only way fakes would be sold is if Currys were themselves duped into buying them
I really hope this Dyson breaks down, i cant wait to see how you'll deal with that situation if a 10 min wait instore has lead to this level of hysteria0 -
Or spend more than 10 minutes making a whiny post on an internet forum.blossomhill wrote: »Ten minutes? Ten? That's ten minutes of your life you will never get back, when you could have been doing one of these0 -
A lot of assumptions here by the OP. How do you know that the sales assistant did not have a bad shoulder/back/leg where they could do their work but not carry heavy items?
It's also possible that due to the person having to leave the store premises and go into the car park, they may need a special type of insurance or training. (Lifting and carrying for example) which the sales assistant has not been trained on.
I don't work in Curry's, but a grocery store and when we get a delivery, if we are outside the store and get injured then we are not insured. If the driver gets injured inside the store (hurt back for example) then they are not covered. The cage of stock must be passed over at the front door.0
