iPhone 5 - what are we expecting?

- different dock connector? (but there must be something to revert to the old dock connector in the box surely?)I think that will be a bad move on Apple's behalf. All of those docks and accessories already out there will be useless with an iPhone 5 unless they buy an adaptor.
It will be a terrible move if they do anything like this. I really hope that they don't change the dock connector at all.
The single connector across the whole range is a big reason why I c hose an iPhone over everything else on offer (the fact that so many accessories are made to accept that dock); and I chose the iPad in part because I already had an iPhone, and my AppleTV mostly because I already had an iPhone & iPad. And I will not be alone in this. So changing the dock connector would mean carrying around a daft adapter everywhere, which would mean my phone would no longer fit snugly into the docking bay of accessories; it will mean having a different adapter on my iPad & iPhone. I won't be happy. I will seriously consider only getting a 4S and potentially not upgrading again for a long while...Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0 -
Sammy are moving into Windows Phone 8 this year.thegoodman wrote: »Yes it is interesting to see the release.
It's one phone against all android, windows phone and all others.
Some how Apple have been able to keep the intrest going with one phone, no other company have been able to do that.
The price for sim free will be same as Samsung S3 around £500.
Even the Samsung said that IOS is better then Android. The comment from a company who do Android phones says something. I am sure the comment from the Samsung a day or two before the release of iphone 5 will generate more sell for Apple.

having said that idiophreak - did you get your phone at launch? I'm expecting to have to pay £99 for the phone and maybe £40 a month for the contract, at least. I'm wanting to get one within the first couple of weeks it's out. (giving it a week first to see if there are any really glaring iphone 4 style problems...)
That doesnt apply to phones sold sim free and unlocked. All iPhones are unlocked at sale; it depends how you buy it as to whether it is subsequently locked or not.0 -
This is a software enhancement in iOS6 rather than a hardware feature of the iPhone 5
As Siri was until Apple made it hardware restricted.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

Yes, but don't do all that division. Just calculate the total over 24 months.Idiophreak wrote: »Does the maths really add up that way?
The last time I calculated this for Orange, a SIM-only contract worked out at £499 + £9 x 24 = £715 but a bundled contract worked out at £100 + £36 x 24 = £964. The figures are probably slightly different now, but the large discrepancy will remain.0 -
So it will restore all your app settings and data to the new OS, just like iOS does?Windows Phone 8 onwards sees this end, M/S admit such as w8/WP8 was in development whilst W7/WP7 were in development. As for losing your data each time, no you back up to PC then manually select which files to sync to a new device.0 -
Apparently so, product manager says so unless Balmer pulls it, like Steve Jobs they both have made crazy decisions - 4S ? 3GS was named such as it upgraded the data transfer speeds, 4S well it updated what exactly ? It was hardly a upgrade, no wonder people expect goodness from 5, I hope Apple pull it off, phones have been mediocre spec wise really, its been a good OS that made it but whilst Android has become saturated, WP7.8 & WP8 are really surpasing Apple in many respects, just because you lead the race dont mean you win - you can tire out easier.
Would I go back to iphone ? No restrictive & good marketing...I got my 3GS gifted free, on specs alone I'd never have bought it or a 4 nor a 4S, however maybe the 5 specs will impress me if the OS dont
Then again i5 specs with Windows Phone 8 might be a dream come true if developers get to it lolSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Of course they are, as are HTC, LG and any other handset manufacturer. They cater for the masses.Sammy are moving into Windows Phone 8 this year.0 -

And the masses aint iphone nor Android lol, Google buying Motorola was stupidity competing with your manufacturers! Unless Android has exclusive Motorola goodness that was a very bad move, no wonder Sammy which makes a large % of parts for alot of mobile manufacturers is full force behind WP8 now, google shat on them.
Personally a Samsung SIII or moreso Note with WP8 sounds great to me !SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

Do you honestly think that Samsung don't think Android is for the masses? Look at the SGS3 sales figures, that says everything.0
