The only problem being is that Appple fans cant seem to understand this.

Meh, it's 50/50...for every apple fanboy out there that will buy the next iPhone whatever it is, there's a hater that would never buy one.

These things only change with REALLY remarkable products. I used to be a hater, until I was forced to concede that there *really* was no better MP3 player available than the ipod touch - and I was converted :)

SO when your walking or on your bike, good luck removing the sat nav from the car... its not like its a tom tom... its for the car and only the car... what about on hols when you hire one, or on a bike, and train it to london... oh dear, you really missed the point. Im not going to break them all down.
And if you want to use your navigation on public transport.. well, you'll need to find yourself an Android phone as the new Apple Maps app doesn't support public transport navigation

I would quite miss Google Maps if i left android - it's one of the best features Android has
  • I figure there'll be a google maps app for iphone soon enough... hope so!

Your posts really do make me chuckle! You seem quite insecure as an iphone user and dont like to read peoples negative comments.

Doesn't bother me either way, negative or not.

But on a thread that is title "iPhone 5 - what are we expecting?", I also chuckle, if only for the irony, at all the comments from the iPhone haters.

    Now onto your own insecurities....
Ive never owned an iphone and the reason for that is because I can get all the features of an iphone that I will use on an android device for a lower price.

Ive had the HTC Desire, Galaxy S2 and now have the Galaxy S3. I enjoy technology and have a house full of gizmos and gadgets.

Ive been reading a lot about the iphone 5. If it had been good enough to tempt me away from the S3, I would have traded in and moved across. I dont stick with a certain brand or product, I move to a product that fulfils my needs.

I agree that the original iphone, iphone 3 and iphone 3gs changed the mobile phone world for ever. Truly inspirational products. It seems however that Apple have been overtaken and are struggling to catch up with other manufaturers.

Maybe you should open your eyes more and stop being negative on people that post negative comments on Apple. Everyones entitiled to an opinion. Theres millions of people out there like me that have no fixed loyalty and that will quite happily switch to a better product - Its what keeps companies on their toes. Release a poor product and people will move elsewhere. The only problem being is that Appple fans cant seem to understand this.

I think the point in bold says it all.

The rest is just your own insecurities telling everyone how bad a product is that you have never actually used or owned.

I am neither a fanboy or a hater.

I just appreciate a good product, just as you appreciate the ipod touch.

If someone already has an iPhone, like I have the 4s, I wouldn't recommend they get the new the iPhone, but if you haven't got an iPhone I would recommend getting one. I can also base my recommendation on having owned and used an iPhone and compare it to having owned and used other smart phones.
    A very fair point.

Appears Liams attitude to me is rather like saying "This is an Apple thread, Apple can do no wrong, only positive replies allowed"

Quite a lot of people are dissapointed with the iphone 5. All you have to do is google and see all the comments all over the web about it.

Like others, I was hoping that Apple would have raised it up a notch this year and gone all out trying to beat the Galaxy S3, however it just didnt happen.

You still don't get my point.

Even though you are an apparent iPhone hater, you seem to religiously follow it, from the original iPhone to the iPhone 5.

Now I still cannot think of another phone that would create this sort of reaction. People might talk about a new phone for a few days or weeks, but for people (who profess to hate it), to follow it for years, seems odd to me.

I used to be a closet iphone hater... my point was you could get the same for less.

But in fact you cant get the same, you can get a cheaper substitute, and in my experience there is no such thing as a cheaper substitute, they are normally a waste of space. Android is fine. Till you mess it up, fill it up and need a factory reset.

Never had this issue with Apple... regular updates sort it. Just like pulling the battery out when it freezes... never happened on Iphone!

Sorry but regardless of the latest must have feature if its not tried and tested ya wait till it is, and apple release it on an update!

Fact is... all phones with a touch screen are pretty much the same. Otherthan the operating system.

Your talking to someone who lived on xbox who was ranked in the top 100 on PGR4 (which took AGES, hasnt turned it on in 12 months... why, cause I can play games with friends over the net on a personal device in the same way. Its not about the Game, but playability. One game I downloaded on Ipad... PACMAN... I also have it on the xbox... thats comparing like for like, and two paid games on both devices... call me nostalgic if you like... fine.

I never said my car has built in satnav. Oh dear you missed the point

you prefer games on your ipad, great
however its simply not comparable with playing on an xbox
    a handheld console maybe,but not a console

I've never messed up or even filled up mine ( an old Galaxy S running Jelly Bean ) despite having 16GB of music on it the SD card and currently have 99 apps including sat nav apps that store the map data on the phone, I still have over 2GB free on the phone.

You mentioned in an earlier post that you had memory full / too many apps problem on an Android phone , what phone was it or do you know what internal memory it had ? How did it compare price wise to an iphone ?

I would've considered an iphone 5 if it was comparable to other phones on the market but in my opinion it's not even close which is a bit disapointing given the time Apple have had to develop it and the fuss made over it's arrival.

I think they've got lazy and are relying on the brand name , compare the iphone 4 ( released around June 2010 ) to the iphone 5 then do the same with a Galaxy S (also released around June 2010 ) and the S3 which are worlds apart or even ios 4 to ios 6 and then Android Gingerbread to Jelly Bean and it's clear to see where the innovation is coming from.

I know of a few people who've been waiting for the 5 to come out but have now decided to look at other phones instead due to it virtually being the same 2 year old phone in a bigger shell.
