Well I've lost 3lbs.. tbh gutted. Was expecting a biggie as its the first week and not a single crisp, chocolate or confectionary has passed my lips. Yes cheeky wine fri / sat but that's literally it. I am enjoying the meal planning (bizarrely) and its really unusual for me to think more than 1 meal ahead.
I think probably exercise may have been a factor as kids went back Monday and so normal activities not fully resumed, only had 1 x Zumba (Monday) (in 2 weeks). Usually go to leisure centre 3 x a week (zumba - mon, gym - tues, aerobics - wed)

Dave has also lost 3lb (hows that fair?, he's only eaten my cooking!!) He weighed himself last night, kids unweighed as yet

Off today (am absolutely knackered) so meeting a friend, we are going a walk rather than a sofa chat, then food shopping, washer on, pile of ironing to demolish. Was thinking of making some batches of soup for work lunches (and todays dinner) and some cereal bar cake for lunch boxes. Then I thought chicken fajitas and salad for tea. Best Crack on.

3lbs is superb Helen :T. How many cereal bars did you have as though they were healthy they were quite fattening?
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Probably 2 squares a day (cereal bar type quantities). Only thing kept me on straight and narrow though, as a sweet hit on my dips. I have ate raisins, cranberries, seeds when wanted choc.

Thanks Tilly. I think if i had hit 4lbs I would have been pleased but 3lbs not quite as much as would have liked. Its a start though, onwards and upwards. Will up my ante this week and try to focus on forward planning. Still planning a couple of glasses of wine fri / sat but I think as my wine consumption reduces so does my tolerance for it.
    Feeling very motivated.

Walked, chatted, shopped, cooked, eaten as planned. Now just need to tackle ironing.

  • Awful week at work but 3 new starters next week. On the positive my clinical skills have well and truly been brushed up.

woke up at exact time my alarm clock usually goes off, to the minute. Hows that fair? Gave up and got up just after 7. Quite a few chores done and kids at music, I did the run so Dave could have a lie in as wide awake anyway.

Filled my petrol tank on way home but definitely lasting loads longer.

Not working this weekend (as far as I'm aware / yet..)

  • Stopped off at sports direct (sale) on way home from fetching kids, promised dd2 ages ago. So the girls all had new trainers plus dd2 a pair of canvas shoes, dd1 had 2 tops, I had a top and a fleece and dave had a top plus trousers. Also some new sports bottles. Spent £122 but had loads of bags and it felt like everyone had about £20 + spent, so fair. (which is always the challenge).

It must be quite challenging to keep it fair when shopping with kids. I have no idea how my mother coped with 5 of us!

Three pounds is brilliant. Well done!
  • Yes Ed, especially as the oldest always needs and the middle one always wants. Then I end up with buying the youngest just to be fair. Can be a vicious circle at times.

Thanks Alchemilla, just routing through an old SW book and can see several areas where I can make improvements to my current diet. As although stayed off what I considered to be naughty, there are clearly more naughties than I realised...
