  • We have 2 equally spectacular pratts at work...I discovered a few months ago that they were making rude comments about me to partner agencies!!
I didn't react to them, started keeping a little diary on what was happening...the rest of my team loathe them too so we have been polite-ing them to death! Cool, polite answers to everything but no interest in them and no attempt to instigate any help or conversation- they hate it because they are desperate to be liked.

One is going on hols and has been boring everyone to death about it....she came to me over lunch and tried to engage me in conversation about it...I made out that I didn't know but ooh it sounded lovely....the devastation on her face that I didn't know about her holiday was unbelievable!

My team are getting fantastic results, projects are running well....they are failing dismally and are very jealous of us all hence the nastiness!!!

If they hadn't been unpleasant I would have helped them but they can do one now!!!! What goes around, comes around.....

    Well done, you're amazing :T:T:T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • I must admit NP, I am kinda shocked that someone so un academic as me can actually get a Masters, almost down values it!

    I will tell Shiny shoes!!!

Was definitely very hard, really struggled, comparing myself to colleague's, I definitely needed to put in more effort for lower results (so yes, I am definitely not "bright") and I am never putting myself through this again (but don't need to, I hope). Currently nursing students are diploma, degree or masters but will soon be degree or masters only, so clearly need to up my game. Hoping this will see me through to retirement..... as although not a requirement for my role, it is a desired. I feel I have done more than reasonably expected, but would satisfy an interview panel for next grade (should I decide to apply in the future)

Still being asked if applied for bosses job by "everyone", somebody told me they had heard I had definitely applied and good luck (err No!), I think if area sorted, then it would be considered but the staff definitely need stability and have had some incredibly good feedback from lots of sources about how the area looks (am I really kidding anyone by not saying ward??). Have managed to have 6 staff currently awaiting start dates and that is unbelievable if asked a few weeks ago, especially the standard of them! So pleased I want to do a skippy dance...

Have heard via the old NHS bongo drums who is the main contender and quite relieved if true. She used to be a fellow Ward Sister several years ago, was passed over for matrons post (unfairly IMO) and so did a development post, championing the prevention of falls (for which I have had lots of conversations) , we did the RCN leadership course together (years ago) and are very similar in views. I like her and although feel could easily do the role, I do think I could work easily with her as my line manager and would trust her to back me up if needed.

Major visit is definitely on my site tomorrow.. but hey bring it on...
