:rotfl:. You can choose another sign ;).

Well today is the start of the four day 'Honey Detox' ..... culminating in a massage at my class on Tuesday.

    Day 1

Half jar of Manuka honey dissolved homogeneously in 1 litre of room temperature water. Start drinking until you become saturated.

Lightly boil the following vegetables (Brocolli, cauliflower, courgettes, tomatoes, spinach, water cress and green beans) wait for 3-4 hours and when you have sharp hunger, then eat as much of the vegetables as you like and drink the water from the vegetables. You can also drink the remaining honey water during the rest of the day.

    Same thing in the evening.

    Oh the joys :rotfl:.

I've just updated my budget for the month, and in order to save £100.00 and keep within plan, I have only £76.00 to last until month end.

I only really need to spend money on food, with this, everything else has been paid, but that is going to be a bit too tight, so I plan to make this up to £150.00 by:-

A - Selling £50.00 worth of stuff on ebay.

= 4 DVD's and poor Fluffy the hamster, who passed away yesterday's, state of the art cage. RIP Fluffy.

    B - £50.00 from HMRC

They owe my £50.00 from last year, i've been meaning to chase them up about this for ages.

Two jobs for next week and I will keep a running total on the £150.00.

Day 1 of the detox is OK so far, the vegetables tasted much better than I expected. Amazing what tastes good when you are really hungry.

  • Hi beanielou,

It means the 'knowledge for long life'. It is basically a holistic approach to good health, that is very popular in India.

My Yoga teacher also runs Ayurveda classes, where he teaches people how to breathe properly, meditate, eat correctly for their body type, think positively, stretch correctly etc. It's a twelve week course, and this week we go on a four day detox and get a massage on Tuesday, to clear any energy blockages. It's been really interesting.

I am feeling very positive xxx.

    Day 5 of 12 week chl'ge - Day 68/365 Day transformation - 18.6%

    Here's a sign of the times ....

Yesterday, I went on a 'girl's' night out. In the past this would have meant a meal out, followed by a few drinks and no change of £50.00.

This year we have migrated to going to each other's houses, and bringing along a bottle and a plate of goodies.

In a new phase, last night, we were asked to bring any presentable clothes, shoes, Jewellery, brick-a-brack along for a 'swap shop'.

I brought along a bundle of this year's summer clothes that are getting too loose for me, and came back with a pile of lovely size 12 clothes to move into. The intervening weeks may prove tricky, but i'll cope :). Now isn't that MSE.

I came home early though, as the homemade key lime pie was tempting me beyond distraction, and I was sticking to water, though nobody commented on it, must have thought it was Vodka.

Day 2 of the detox is the same as Day 1 ..... groan, but in the evening I can also have lentil soup with ginger and cumin.

My thinking is that if I have the discipline to stick with the detox, i'll have the strength to continue with Weightwatchers which is a 100 times easier.

I've done my menu plan for the week. DH and DS are still eating normally, and I will join them from Tuesday.

    Saturday - Lovely Lasagne
Sunday - Roast chicken with herb cheese stuffing
Monday - Chicken pie and vegetables
Tuesday - Chicken soup and filled rolls
    Wednesday - Chunky Sausage Bake
Thursday - Oriental Beef Noodle Salad
    Friday - HM pizza

The recipes are all Weightwatchers and I have bought everything on-line including stuff for the store cupboard and I parted with £86.00. I know I am going to need to spend another £30.00 this week on presents and honey and some wine for a trip to a friend's house next Friday, I also spent £7.68 today.

So from a budget left of £150.00 (including £100.00 from ebay/HMRC still to come) I will have £37.68 to last from 22 September to 29 September, my month end.

I know this will not be enough, so I am going to find another 5 mystery shops before month end, which is feasible, to give me £87.68 for the last week, tight but doable.

So weight loss is going great and £100.00 savings is theoretically possible, I just need to remain focused until month end.
