here's another cheap night out if you like jazz http://www.cafejazzcardiff.com/
tickets for the gigs are only a few quid each, drinks and bar snacks are decent prices.. but whatever you do, don't eat your dinner there LOL
and to answer your Cwmbran question, yes the shopping centre is a short walk from the train station. There's a Frankie & Benny's there if you fancy some American Italian food, Monday is the best day to go, there's 25% off all the total food bill.
Penarth is a 10 mins train ride from Cardiff if you fancy a night stroll along the esplanade :-) a short taxi ride or an hour's walk down the pebble beach or along the cliff and you get to Lavernock Point, a fantastically quiet and secluded rocky beach
Caerphilly castle is 20mins train ride away and Castle Coch is a short walk from Taffs Well, 10mins train ride away :-)
eating out wise, there's some very good and affordable stuff at Canton and also on City Road, there's good and cheap steak places, Vietnamese food, Japanese food, Cantonese restaurant etc, all within walking distance from the city centre, so don't feel like you are stucked with eating in the city centre.
Enjoy your special month and don't worry too much, just let it flow, love is in the air! :-)0 -
Just enjoy the time you spend together and dont worry about the money. If he knows your situation and has offered to pay then accept it. You could pay once in a while to show willing for some not so expensive things- coffee and a muffin one sunday morning, go for walks and get an ice cream, check the cinema for deals - sometimes during the week in our cinema they do 2 tickets for the price of 1. Also many restuarant chains will have a curry night fo rexample where you can get 2 main meals and a drink for £10 that sort of thing. Or some sunday lunch carvery places are very good value. Get some nibbles in a watch a film. Or candlelit baths are cheap... !
On the work side of things I wouldnt talk about it at all. If there is office gossip it can really cause upset. Keep the 2 totally seperate. The last thing you want is hurtful things being said that might spoil it or if you do break up ( sorry to say but these things happen ) you will still have to face your colleagues. Dont discuss it at all.
Hope you have a nice time.0 -
I've been getting cheap tickets, like theatre tickets from work (they have an allocation for the theatres and events etc) and I got an orange sim for the Orange Wednesday
I couldnt do the candle lit bath in the hotel
I reckon the bath would be too small.
All my colleagues know because at a work night out I kind of kissed him lots. They wind me up saying he'll move on once he is at a different site.
I do try and keep it seperate. I found one curry place that I really want to go to but its not part of a chain so will have to see money situation.0 -
Not sure staying in a hotel together for a month is a good plan, would do most people's heads in. Plan to stay a few nights a week but not all the time. One does need space. And one room (plus bathroom) gives you no where to go to chill. Not even a kitchen.
It will be a bit too much all at once and not really a good indication of living together in the future.
Not sure why you would do his washing, just invite him over to your mums and let him do it himself.0 -
It may be the hotel has given his company a discounted rate which may not apply when the hotel realises the room is being occupied by two people, not one.
If you're skint I would guess the last thing you would want is to be hit with a very large hotel bill covering a month's stay that you enjoyed but didn't have the grace to ask for..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
I thought that about the room, but last time I stayed for a few days he just paid the difference at reception and I got my own room key.0

will he be paying for breakfast every day? often its extra on top of the room so that could add up over a month.0

Yeah, but we didn't go everyday.burnoutbabe wrote: »will he be paying for breakfast every day? often its extra on top of the room so that could add up over a month.0 -
There's a Wetherspoon just round the corner from Holiday Inn and they do lovely a good range of breakfast options, good prices too, with 99p Lavazza (sp?) coffee! don't bother eating at the hotel if its not included in the room rate :-) just cross Westgate street and walk towards the train station, its call the Gate Keeper :-)0

They are bored listening to you?
Keep your relationship private.
Do not pop into his office/workspace with coffee, love notes or in person.
Do not send loved up emails to his work email address.I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0
