Just to add my twopenneth: at our group the SoW basket is made up from low/synfree stuff that members are encouraged to bring along every week (fruit, beans, mushy peas etc). If SoW hasn't stayed, they get their certificate eventually but the basket gets raffled. Raffle prize is always a box of fruit and/or veg which consultant buys from raffle money the week before. Quality/quantity of prizes has gone down a lot in the year+ i've been going. i think that's partly because fewer people buy tickets and what you can buy for your money's gone down too (another symptom of recession).
Our SOTW basket is made up the same way, the person on weigh in asks every person if they've brought something to pop in the basket - kinda makes me feel bad on the weeks that money is really tight and I literally can't afford to give something! Also, out of the 60+ people who weigh in at each of my consultants groups only 25-30 people actually contribute to the basketThe if the SOTW has left the raffle tickets get drawn from again to give away the basket (although this is new, the consultant used to just give it to the next highest loser who lost the week before too)
The raffle - tickets are 50p each and whoever wins gets £5 to do the prize for the week after.
I have never seen someone get a magnet or anything like that - just a sticker and the certificate.************************************

beanie & CH27 - when i attended class earlier this year we had a SOTW basket which was just rubbish. People just used to fill it with synned food or manky looking fruit. :rotfl:

Hi all - newbie here
Started on SW EE last week (well properly on the 1st Oct) and so far am really enjoying it compared to other plans I have tried in the past.
Hopefully you'll all be able to keep me right...
Today looks like this:
B- Muller Vanilla/coconut Greek style yogurt (0.5 syns), banana, coffee 25ml (part of HEXa)
L- Tomato mugshot, strawberries and Bernard Mathew tikka turkey chunks.
D-Going to mums for dinner - she says she's making pasta with a HM ragu type idea with tomato/pepper/mushroom/courgettes/any other veg she can use and a huge side salad so hopefully lots of SF foods hidden in there.
Hopefully since my syns are low for the day a glass of wine or 2 will be ok. It is Friday after all :j0 -
Went to weigh in last night and I had lost 3.5lbs :j
Super happy with this and determined to stick with it.VSP member #250 -
Where You Working - conkers worked fine for me in my old house ..this one the spiders are bigger, fatter, darker and not afraid to throw the damn things back at me
haha!!!!:rotfl: sounds like you live in the countryside too!
I've won Slimmer of the Month 4 times (march to june) and recieved 1 fridge magnet. 12 times i've won the fruit basket for Slimmer of the Week. I think it depends how much the consultant spends on stuff as to what you get. The new group I go to has a Christmas raffle to win a prize. Colour in a bauble on a tree per lost 1lb, 7 baubles = one raffle entry.
She's also arranged for a night out for the group. Far more social than the last place
RFD... great newsw hope all goes well.
FOOD FIGHT!!!!(sorry had to)
oooh now that seems like a cracking idea!!! ours always gives a fruit basket to the SOW... but there is never anything exciting... just some slightly dodgy fruit that someone doesnt want
well lunch was rather pityfulwent to the post office with parcels... asked boss if he wanted the door locked and he said no because he would be just behind me, i came back and there was someone paying a bill and 2 people waiting for a 2pm appointment!!... the place is closed between 1-2 supposedly. had to sit at the desk, so have just eaten more fruit - means i cant be tempted to run across the road to the amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing coffee house :T:rotfl:.. i swear there is still the fat me inside squealing for their scones (o.m.g is all there is to say):rotfl::rotfl:
what are people's plans for the weekend? mine is to go to st georges market in town and TRY to get the grass cut for the last time or two before winter. given the shape of our garden that is bound to count towards some body magic surely??I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know
On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!0 -

Ours are 50p a strip. I think that's a bit of a cheek putting pressure on giving things for SoW. The winner used to buy the prizes when our consultant was pregnant as a sort of favour. Now it's back to normal and our consultant buys the raffle stuff but she doesn't put herself out to make it anything out of the ordinary. I'm sure if the raffle was stopped and SoW was just a certificate, nobody would lose any sleep.**tracey** wrote: »Went to weigh in last night and I had lost 3.5lbs :j

Brilliant tracey!:T
Welcome MrsMcG, your menu looks good for EE. I assume that's 25mls of milk with your coffee so loads left. I don't see any HEB. Your mum's dinner sounds great as long as she's not sneaking any extra oil in there (although she could use some for your HEB). Enjoy your synful wine!0
