  • Google sugar cholesterol and Gall stones. It only takes a second or two and comes up with plenty of info.

lets look at your muller light. Added ingredients include
Fructose thats great for a start. a Sugar which interferes with your natural fuel gauge
    Modified maize starch
    Aspartame :eek::eek::eek:

I am certain your OH will be able to explain the nasties of those 3 Im not sure he will find benefits to outweigh them.

Sugars typically for muller light are around 7% or 2/3rds that of full fat coke

so you are basing a slimming programme/gall stones solely on muller light yoghurts?

Slimming world encourages members to eat plenty of fruit & vegetables, pasta, meat, eggs etc . All of these are healthy options to choose.

the yoghurts are a tiny part of the diet, and lets face it i suspect a LOT of people eat muller light yoghurts. Not just those who follow slimming world.

Thanks for your non advice, you know where the door is.:undecided

Guys - stop responsing to absolute bounder. He's just trolling. Ignore the troll, he'll get bored and go away.

How is everyone? I am still doing well, nearly halfway with the pregnancy and only 4-5 pounds on so far (most of them over my birthday week, oops!)
  • You know guys, there is this magic ignore function. Makes the annoying things hush up completely.
Click on the name of person that you really want to ignore then select & Click add *person name* to ignore list
Then you don't have to listen to what you know you don't want to.

Back on track here, not sure what the wobble was about, hormones probably.
Chocolate is always good for a wobble though :D

  • Morning everyone

Can i join you (again)? I went back to SW on sat. On my first week on the plan again and i am having 3 meals out:eek::eek: but this time i am choosing healthier choices. For the 1st time in a long time i feel in control.

I lost 2 and a half stone about 6 years ago on SW, making me about 12 stone. That was the lightest i can ever remember being. But since then i developed depression and a compulsive eating disorder. I have finally taken control of my life and getting my depression under control. I will also start talking to someone about my eating. I feel so much better about everything and that's why i have decided to go back to SW. The problem being that due to the disorder i now have about 8 stone to lose  but i know that it can be done.

    Sorry for the essay :D

Does anyone use minimins? I only found it the other day but i am hooked.

Ah that's a shame, I thought you were going to educate me without having to plagiarise the internet, which as we all know only contains truth. With regards to your example I actually agree (I know without OH's help what these ingredients are and do), but with the caveat in isolation - as you can see above I eat a varied diet containing plenty of fruit and veg as well as protein and other carbs, so as a % a Mullerlight is not that much. The key to anything like this is moderation and being sensible, so even though you could technically live on 10 Mullerlights a day you'd be a bit stupid to do that.

Btw, as a scientist I only take my information from papers rather than randoms found by googling, and to quote from one from 2004: "The etiology of cholesterol gallstone disease is multifactorial with interaction between genome and environment" - so some people will get them and some won't no matter what their diet, and "Intake of high energy, simple sugar and saturated fat favors gallstone formation. Fiber and moderate consumption of alcohol reduce the risk" - the SW plan is fairly low energy, low fat, low alcohol and high fibre, which is easily enough to outweigh a reasonable small sugar consumption.

RFD - glad you've found some support and hope the meeting is helpful

ETA: Sarah and Shellie- I know you're right but I can't resist a scientific debate, especially with someone who appears to know everything!

    Morning all

How is everyone today? Hope everyone is feeling well :). I contacted cruse yesterday, and they were fabulous to speak too. Much better than my GP. They have told me of several support groups which i could attend and will be going to my first one (SOBS ) on this upcoming Tuesday evening. Thank to psychopathbabble (i think) for suggesting the cruse website. Its much appreciated.

Lovely post rfd, you sound so much better today.

Thanks for the curry recipes psycho. That certainly was some cooking marathon, you did your friends proud.

WI for me this morning and I lost 2.5lbs. So I'm now a pound below my target range.

maman, the thing was a BRUTE, at that time of the morning it felt like a small child. the grossest of things though were those two piddly feeler bits (not the legs) near the front of its head. _pale_ could have cried!! :rotfl:

RFD im glad you were able to get information and support rather than that shoddy excuse of a place you were referred to!

hmmmm really starting to get hungry now :D its all this thought of curry:rotfl:... on a side note, does anyone else ever get a burbly tum? not a hungry burble, but a funny burble.... mine acts up every so often but more so when im lying in bed about to sleep... and now actually lol
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:
