Welcome csm - personally I think you would be better going to a class and registering there even if it's just to get all of the books. There is a voucher in -I think- Woman mag this week for free registration so you would only pay the weekly fee (£4.95) but that would give you the full pack. After that you can either go to class every week and / or join in here.
I don't have any experience of the online membership though I don't think they do codes / quidco like WW does. by the way, if you have done WW before, be prepared to be amazed at how much food you can eat without weighing & measuring.... it's a revelation!!
WI for me later - I should be OK but have the telltale butterflies in stomach thing going on already! I am going to have a browse through the cookery books on sale at class today - my Nana gave me some money for my birthday and that's what I am going to spend it on.Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

Hi everyone can I join in?
I started SW back in the middle of July and have lost just over a stone already on the EE plan. Was loving it then decided to only write down my syns instead of everything and I think that was my downfall! The first week I did that I also have a take away, 2 kfcs (although I had no fries and took all the coating off) and alcohol for the first time since starting the plan and I had my first gain - only 1lb and I was expecting it but it put me on a downer.
That was almost 2 weeks ago and since then I've down 1/2 a week on plan then we've been in London for the paralympics for 5 days and despite being told there was SW friendly food there was very little! I had 2.5 days of effectively being off plan. Although I was doing about 3 hours walking a day and snacked on satsumas rather than all the chocolate and crud I was desperate for.
Got weigh in on Wednesday night so I'm hoping for a small gain or a maintain this week - will be feeling cruddy until Thursday though I think.
Also think I'm going to get more food diaries and start writing everything down again. Hopefully we will go shopping later and will get some SW friendly stuff in!************************************

Ooh a new thread, lovelytreeny_bash wrote: »I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me if diet chef food has syn values listed on Slimming world?
Nothing seems to be on the SW database, sorry. Some good advice from Maman though- if you're family are doing it you'll be well set to do it successfullyI've been thinking about breakfasts and lunches on extra easy.
If I had scrambled egg or poached egg on 1 slice of white Nimble bread (1HEB) that would be free? Then could I have a banana a wee bit later as my 1/3 Superfree?
Lunches I can have a bowl of home made veg soup (free) for my 1/3 Superfree with jacket potato and tuna or cottage cheese.
Would that work? I am so determined to figure this out!
Looks fine to me. I think a lot of people do the 1/3 SF as a whole day rather than having to have it in the meal. It can sometimes be difficult to judge the 1/3, so to be sure you could always have some mushrooms or tomatoes with your egg as well.
TIE - Thanks for posting that, is great to be able to hear from people who have lost and are successfully maintaining, fab!
WI tonight and am hopeful for a loss- been a lot more focused this week and exercised more. A sneaky peek this morning suggests a decent loss but I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything! Need 3lb to get my 3.5 stone award so that's the next target.
Had a good weekend enjoying the sun (is it sad that one of the things I like best about sunny days is that I can get loads of washing on the line?!). Made OH walk to local the retail park so I could look at bikes, which he grumbled about when first suggested but was fine - only 2.5 miles each way, although seems longer when driving. Picked up some Joes sausages and extra lean mince from the butcher on the way back - the promise of HM burgers later kept OH happy! Went into town and had a look round (more walking) then went for a quick drink with a mate before home for food and Inspector Montalbano
Yesterday was our first wedding anniversary so my present to OH was to go and watch some local club cricket (I hate it as much as he loves it) and drive home so he could drink, which is fine by me as I'd rather have diet coke and keep my syns for other things. I underestimated quite how long these things go on for, although I shouldn't have since one game is on telly for DAYS! Was actually not too bad, some friends went too and the weather was nice for the most part so didn't really mind being there for 6 hours! The main thing is that OH has agreed to start playing again - he used to in his youth but hasn't for a good few years. He keeps saying how he wants to get back into it but is unfit and wants to get fitter first - well duh, it will get you fit! He does need to lose some weight, probably about the same as I still want to lose, 3 or 4 stone, but I think exercise will be the key for him as he eats mainly the same as me now. Our mate (who has recently lost a couple of stone playing squash and looks great) has agreed to play too to encourage him, which is great
Anyway, enough chatter, need to do some work!! Green today:
B: Porridge (B), milk (A), raisins (3.5)
L: Mugshot, nectarine, alpen light
T: Post-WI - TBC
S: Alpen light, choch for syns

Good to see some new joiners.:):wave:everyone likes a shiny new thread!
Good to see you back confused57 and, no, dizzy hasn't been around at all. Sorry you've been having problems but:Tfor maintaining.
csm, I'd definitely agree that actually going to a class is better than online. Were you thinking of that because there's nothing near you?
ammonite, I tend to average my SFs across the day too. I try to snack on a bit of fruit but always have plenty of veg with my supper to be on the safe side. Did you say you are limited in the veg you can eat? BTW I checked out peas and they are SS (mushy, garden and petit pois) so although they don't count as SF they're better than free as they speed up weightloss.0 -
thank you FE for the new thread
well....yesterday was lovely, i didnt win, but i did get into the final 8, not bad from 11000 members in N Ireland:beer:
It was inspiring and motivating, and a lovely day all round, the 2 finalists each lost almost 9stone, so i never for one moment thought my 6stone 8.5lbs would take me thru to the last 8, never mind win, but i felt like a winner regardless!:j0 -
csm~another vote for going to a class here.

1lb off for me this week - I was a wee bit disappointed as that's over 2 weeks but then I remembered I'd had my red wine blow out for Mam's / my birthday last weekend then 1/2 portion of chippy chips last week so all in all, I've done OK. 3st9lb off so far - would like to be at the 4st mark by the first week in Oct so 5lb in 3 weeks.....
I spent my Nana's birthday money on the soup recipe book and also the new Extra Easy All in One book so will look forward to having a browse through them this evening. I'm going to ask DH & DD to have a look through them and chose their favourite each and I'll make them through the week too.Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

Have been nosing through some of my SW books the past couple of days and one thing that has stood out from everything that we are taught in class is that you are to monitor your egg consumption. We have been told endlessly that these are a free food and to fill your boots but this book says in black and white that eggs are high in cholesterol and that more than 10 a week in an average healthy person is too much and anyone with pre-existing health conditions should max at 4 per week.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Hi Stef.
The advice about eggs has changed, we are now told that there is 'good' and 'bad' cholesterol. The good stuff, which is what we are told eggs contain, protects out arteries rather than damages them. HTH.[FONT="][FONT="] Fighting the biggest battle of my life.Started 30th January 2018.
