  • ladies im surprised with how eloquently put your arguments were! :T :T....if it were me, im afraid i couldnt have mustered the same tolerance, i was seeing red even just backreading that! so well done!!!!!!!

my mates mum has joined SW but shes not doing it properly in that she wont have her HE's. gonna be a slow road on that foot i think.

b'fast was non existent since i slept in this morning  but for lunch i had veggie broth with a piece of HEB bread and a skim of butter (2 syns?)... dinner will most likely be a small slice of pie of some form (need to figure out the syns) with veg and spuds.

Hasnt stopped raining here since i woke up - i loooooove the rain and thunder etc but it makes me want stodge and chocolate.. * week is here so that doesnt help lol, only encourages :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

going to try and SE this week in some form again i think... if i want to hit my 12st 3lb target for halloween (4 1/2 weeks away ), then i need to be realistic about what i eat between now and then. starting from this weekend when my little friend will vanish (hopefully), im going to cut out my sugary treats and see if that helps. if i want a sweet treat ill just find some other way of satisfying it.
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

  • Hope all is going well for those at WI tonight ;)

Those of you looking for a delish, quick and easy comfort food try a Cowboy Pie. (No boots)
SW friendly sausages, precooked with chopped onions. Slice sausages and place in a pie dish, ( I used 4) Add 1 tin of beans.
    Cover with mash - cook.
I used smash, (syn free i believe if made with water) with some Elmlea in.
I also added a good slop of Worcester Sauce, paprika, and two table spoons of bbq sauce to the beans.
Mine was 2 syns per portion fed the whole family with the kids and dad looking for seconds:D

    Another 1.5lb off:D
:j:beer::j See - 16 on one day and 14 on another does balance out. Excellent work!

I'm not used to all the different syn-free/low-syn dairy stuff though. When would you use quark/ff fromage frais/ff greek yoghurt? Are some better for cooking than others? I want to make mash and also have a creamy dairy sauce for fish pie or chicken pie. Oh, and chickeny pasta.

    TIA!
    Hi!!! Welcome!!! :hello:
Chickeny Pasta is easy... Start to Cook pasta first., fry off onions (red peppers are good too) in frylight, chuck in the chicken (bacon goes good) Leeks, sweetcorn, carrots other veggie stuff. Brown off meat then add an oxo stock cube - add some of the pasta water to the oxo/onions. Finally to stop it from curdling cottage cheese style - add some quark for that creamyness.

    Hello Everyone

I joined slimming world in January and quickly realised that the meetings were not for me. Foolishly I gave up trying to eat healthily not long after stopping the meetings and as result although I have not gained weight over the last 9 months I am still two stone over weight :o.

Recently I have started to realize just how unfit and unhealthy I am and I want to make a big change in my life so I have decided to return to the slimming world plan, dust off the books and start again.

I am a bit nervous about it as I have such a sweet tooth but enough is enough and I need to do something. So I hope to join you all on your weight loss journey :D. Hopefully I will fully get my head round things this time ;)
    Welcome aboard.
Sweet tooth problems can be over come. With the strongest will power in the world. :D Little bits in moderation.. and don't believe your body when it convinces you that you will shrivel up if you do not walk into the very next shop and scoff all the chocolate, sweets, crisps, cakes.... :D

A scientific sort mentioned to me that our bodies go into panic mode when the "what's coming in doesn't match the whats going out" balance. So it screams for energy - (yes sugar...) you think chocolate...cause that's an instant energy right? Its what it's habitually had for years when drained, upset, stressed...
So when you embrace this new slimming world idea.. and you delicately slice up an apple, place it with some grapes and a couple of Rivita your body thinks your having a laugh. Takes a while (just like in any office) for the message to get through that there is perfectly good sugar in the other stuff.
Made me think about how I don't crave chocolate at all any more, because over the 5 months I have cut it out piece by piece!

    This made me smile :D

Tonight I am going to sit down with my books and tentatively meal plan for a week. Shopping day is Thursday and I want to have everything organised by then. I think planning and organisation are what I need as when I do not have healthy food to hand I will immediately turn to sweeties.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!

    Hi all

I am back again. You lot must think i am a right flake as i seem to be stop & start with SW this year :o.

I have finally reached the end of my tether with hormones/time of the month and what i originally thought was mittelschmerz & have put up with it for previous 4 years now possibly could be endometriosis (not diagnosed by a doctor - just from me doing some research into symptoms) .

I have had a horrendous time this month and have had to have sick days because of the intense pain :(. Anyway i have finally got to the point where i cant cope any more as its affecting my life considerably. I have an appointment next Monday with a female doctor to discuss it further. Whatever it is something is not right. I also have my first CBT session this weds as well . I hope this will help me with my low moods and the binge eating that happens when i feel unhappy. I cant help but wonder if the low mood/hormones are linked. Hopefully the doctor can answer some questions.

I am also going to start the classes as of next week -despite them being boring i do wonder if they kept me on track. Looking back it all went wrong when i stopped attending the WI's.

So my day has been an EE and i have eaten the following -

Brekkie - porridge with half skimmed milk/water(Hex A & B) with fresh strawberries
Lunch - bachelors chicken n mushroom pasta n sauce(half pack) with quorn fillet, and veggies
Dinner - Rice with peas & sweetcorn with a tin of tuna mixed with soy sauce

Snacks - pack of Bernard matthews turkey BBQ chunks, WW toffee apple yoghurt (0.5 syns), coconut options hot choc ( 1.5 syns), about to have an apple

ETA - The slow cooker will be making an appearance this week as well. Stews & chunky soup ahoy
