I have always looked at it the way they say in group - just remember that whatever you see on the scales you will not be at that point againbecause you have made the choice not to be. The biggest thing for me was that I realised that I had control not only when I was at home but also when I was out and about or even out for a meal!
And seeing the lbs go down even when you think you may have had a fleximeal/syn too many is an awesome feeling.

So I took some of your advice and went to a class last night :-) Seems like a much easier diet to stick to than the rest!! Really looking forward to getting stuck into it.
I only joined last night so still not got to grips with it. The consultant advised all the newbies to start off on Extra Easy. So I understand that super free food is what I can eat as much of anytime I like, but the free foods is what is confusing me....how much of this are we allowed? We were told that peas etc aren't super free but they are listed under free in the green section, am I not supposed to look at the green section? Do I count peas as syns on the EE plan?
For breakfast I had -
2 poached eggs with mushrooms
red and green grapes
glass of water
Is this ok?
Thank you for you support0 -
You can eat as much of the free food as you want to feel satisfied but it must be balanced out with 1/3rd superfree. This is done so you cant possibly get hungry and still lose weight in the meantime.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

So for example if I had a chicken breast on my plate I could have 1/3rd of the place salad and then as much peas and sweetcorn I like also?0 -

Yes but you can also have unlimited potatoes/past/rice/spaghetti and cous cous with it too. Dont feel you have to live on salads.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Morning!
Well done Pennylane and MedmumMrsC, I looked at my book last night and I think if you had your bacon as a HEX your menu would be fine for Green. The SF comments are about EE, although even on Green you can't have too much f&v;) Anyone who does Green got a view?
I do green about 3 days a week and agree - I like it to have extra HEs and not have the obligation to have SFs but I do try and keep them up as much as possible, so probably only 1 meal a day wouldn't have 1/3. For example, tonight I'm thinking of egg, chips and beans for tea, a meal which wouldn't really welcome the inclusion of veg, but I'm still having at least 1/3 SF with my other meals, which just makes me feel that I'll lose better (this does seem to be the case on the scales as well)Oh anyone with a Mr Morrisons near them I got some good wee offers this Am.
Raspberries for £1,new pototoes for £1, big punnet of kiwi's for £1,black grapes £1.
That's really good, shame our nearest morrisons is quite a way away- I'll tell my mum though as she has one near her (although she is overrun with raspberries from her garden - picked 2lbs this morning!). Fruit and veg seems to be getting really expensive now, and we get through loads. If anyone hasn't tried Aldi I'd really recommend it - rarely go there (except for dishwasher tablets) as OH usually turns his snobby Southern nose up it, but we called in after work on Weds as I wanted some spring onions for the tea and as well as the bunch of spring onions we ended up with: a bag of gala apples, 3 peppers, a head of broccoli, an aubergine, 3 courgettes, a pineapple and a bag of mangetout for £6. All of the aubergines, which weren't going soft or anything, were half price at 35p. 35p!! Even full price is cheaper than Asda (£1) and OH's favourite, Sainsburys (£1.20 ). Our cats love the little boxes of treats too- their reaction makes me think there's some kind of cat heroin in them :rotfl: but I think keeping me, the miaows and our bank account happy may have convinced OH to shop in Aldi more often now, and it's even cheaper in petrol as it's directly on our way home
Green today:
B: Bran flakes (B), milk (A), banana
L: Salmon and prawn quiche (B), (1 for parmesan), nectarine
T: Egg, chips, beans, maybe a slice of cheese (A)
S: Yogurt, light choc mousse (3.5), freddo (5)

Lovely post, thank you!:)Thank you

Not exactly. If you increase your peas and sweetcorn portion then you need to increase the size of the SF portion too. If we imagine that your chicken is one third, your salad a third then your peas&sweetcorn need to be a similar size. Don't worry, you'll soon get the hang of it. Just keep asking.
Blodwen I use Aldi and Lidl regularly. Perhaps now your OH has been there he'll realise (from the smart cars in the packed car park) that the snobbery is disappearing fast. I shop there because I hate being ripped off. I want to choose what to spend my hard earned on.
Have a lovely weekend medmum, try not to succumb to the goodies!0 -
Ahhh thanks Maman - that's really sweet of you.
Blodwen, fruit and veg here are a fortune at the moment and the produce is such rubbish. I went to three different supermarkets yesterday looking for tomatoes and ended up at Teva Market today which is the same at Wholefoods in the UK, got nice tomatoes but they cost me over 2 pounds a kilo whereas in all the other supermarkets they are about half that but the quality is worse than half!Mediterranean Mum

Only just discovered this thread!! I have been going to SW for 6 weeks and I have lost 12lbs. Hoping to get to my Stone award next week
I dont really see it as a diet, but it has changed my thoughts on food and what I want to put in my mouth! I always stay for the Image Therapy, find that really helpful and my friend started at the same time so we encourage eachother!
Im a bit disappointed I havent gone down a trouser size yet though, my current size is too big really and the size below is just too small still! I will get there though
Will check back here regularly for some extra support though!Slimming World Member - Started 05/02/150
