Anybody transferring out of A&L direct ISA
Comments

how long was that after requesting it?
did you get written correspondance from them?0 -
I have just tranferred my ISA from A+L to Halifax 4yr fixed (6%). The transfer was arranged by the Halifax and I did not have to ring up A+L, the account is now closed but it did take 3 weeks.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

Steve, how long was the real loss of interest?
Usually even if the transfer takes long the receiving institution backdates the interest from the date they receive the funds (which is the date they use as 'opening' date). Would be interesting to know what you have really lost in this transfer.0 -

that's interesting.......was it the direct ISA? they say they only accept transfers by phone and many people have had them returned if the new provider has tried to arrange the transfer for them.
still waiting for mine to happen from 30/04/07
i do note from their terms that transfer may take up to 30 WORKING days!!! but you can request a quickly one providing it's not less that 14 days, so i'd be amazed if anyone had one done in less time?!?!?0 -

I received a letter from the Halifax dated 30th April confirming that they had requested funds from A+l, my A+L direct ISA2 is showing as closed (funds not available) as of today.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. The account was only closed today, I am assuming it will be 3days.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Requested a transfer to YBS on 30/4 - as did Mrs W - just checked as a result of Stevie's post and both are now showing closed as of to-days date with interest added.
I'll wait until the end of the week and check to see if it's in the YBS e-ISA account. Now the only worry is whether YBS will put up their rates!!0 -
I have just spoken to A&L as the transfer which I requested on the 5th May hasn't as yet gone through. I have been advised that they are very busy and there is a backlog of around 9 days, hopefully 2 - 3 days should see the transfer complete.0

My transfer went out on May 5 and arrived in Abbey a few weeks later. Abbey have the 'arrival' date of May 5 on the online banking (I checked before it went down over the weekend) so it looks like I havent lost any interest in the process0

as with others, i requested my transfer on 30/04/07 but unlike others my available balance remains unchanged and it appears nothing has happened yet........not happy!!!0
