Yay Emma!, glad you liked it :)

Just reading through and catching up on all the posts over the weekend. You've all been very busy, especially posting lots of links to things I now want to buy. Have got my eye on that ornaments Magazine now.

I've sat down to finish the blackwork cats. One more outline in gold to go and it's taking forever, metallics were definitely invented by the devil! Can't wait to get it done and start something new.

I'm looking forward to my second week off, hoping to get lots of stitching done.

Louise - can you add me and the Christmas Angel to the 12.12.12 list. I'd like to get it done before then though, it's more of a target for me I think, to give me a kick up the bum to get it done before Christmas. :rotfl: If I finish it on time I might pick out a project for 20.12.2012 :)

    While looking through my stash to find a design for the Christmas card exchange (have narrowed it down to 2 or 3 :eek: ) I found this;

    photo-4-8.jpg

This is something I charted myself, it was/is going to be a Christmas scene of a living room on Christmas Day before everyone came downstairs. (there's my Christmas obsession again hehe)

I designed the tree, and was going to fill in the rest of the space with other motifs I'd found. I remember I had a giant teddy one, although no clue where it is now. I've got so many things to do between now and Christmas I think I'm going to aim to get it done for next year, maybe 11.12.13? That will give me plenty of time to dig out motifs and chart the rest. :T

Will stop rambling now, hope you're all having a lovely stitchy day as always.

Love the blackwork and the purple fairy they have a simple elegance but I bet thery were not simple to stitch.
Does anyone know where I can get a vaguely erotic x stitch chart or kit from, not up to posing for a picture but I know my DH would love it as an anniversary present so have time to stitch and frame it if i start now

was browsing this site earlier when deciding what aida should be used for Brednall's xmas kits and stumbled upon designs I never imagined I might see in cross stitch :rotfl:

They are a little  thinking something a little less obvious.... might look for some free software to convert a photo - but not that sort of photo :rotfl: . Found one - now very happily playing upload photos to see what looks good I may be some time deciding.

Did you see the pin up girl ones on Celtic Rose? I think they're really nice. I have a couple of the bookmarks and two or three of the other designs. 'Lace Up' is my fave & not too raunchy. I've started it, but you can't tell what it is yet...lol!

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A
  • sewing machine bought and had a little play. but i don't think hubby was amused at my attempts and did the whole blanket himself lol. Looks very professional tho. Thinking I may buy a 'sewing machine for dummies' type book so i can do some things with it. (tho threading it myself would be a good starting point).

Didn't even LOOK at the cross-stitch stuff (how good am I).

Have been pretty productive tho: made chicken soup from scratch with the chicken carcass..... not tried it yet tho.
made chicken and bacon pasta carbonara bake for tea which was LUSH.
(can you tell what we had for roast yesterday?)

DS1 is at school tomorrow so MAY get 2 hours stitching in while DS2 naps then off to the dentist - yuck.
sitting here stitching ive thought of another 'special date' 10th november 2012 ie 10/11/12. we could be kept very busy with these LOL

    night all

Now that IS a good date.

Have just been browsing ebay (as you do on a Sunday evening when OH is watching Back to the Future) and have discovered that you can buy cones of dmc threads. Has anyone ever bought these? looks like you get quite a lot of thread on them.

    Hello everyone

    Only on for a quickie.

Had to wait outside Glasgow airport today for 4 hours (waiting on a delayed flight). Just as well I took my stitching with me as I managed to finish not just one but two of my current projects.

First my AOY exchange piece - just to do a back piece (signuture and date, etc), put in a coaster and post off to the recipient - its going all the way to Australia.

    108_0077.jpg

Hubby thinks the net looks like chip pan basket !!!

Then I have managed to complete my bear for one of the girls at work who has had a baby - that's the third one I have completed. They all have different text layouts but the same bear.

    108_0076-1.jpg

Just need to get the iron out - lace it and get it into a frame.

Now I just have to find my threads for my Christmas card exchange, look forward to the mail coming with my lavender fabric and threads for my purplework. I have done the design for my book mark for the competition - just have to decide on the colours.

I am also waiting on confirmation of auction - £75 for over 400 colours dmc in boxes. They live not far from my parents so while I still have a vehicle (tho I don't know after this week what will happen with the car) I can pick them up.

Well its been a long day - quite tired - but had an enjoyable one catching up on my stitching - just me and the radio.

Enjoying all the updates - love the wee owl especially - I have one like it but not the same - might get round to do it one day. Sorry some hubbys are "naughty". Guess mine is not too bad - just suggesting that we get an Xbox if we get money for christmas.

    Kind wishes to all

    sweetcarer ;)

PS Updated my siggy = wow I have done alot this year.
:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j
