Cross Stitch Cafe - stitching out of 2012 and into 2013...

were there lots of cross stitch stalls ??? I have never been to a craft fayre. I fear it would be dangerous for my bank balance.
There were about 10 x-stitch stalls - most of them were a.n. other crafts: lots of card making stuff, lots of beading, some knitting - then the rest (say 40%) was new things that I'd never heard of - along with felting, lace, etc... Exeter is a small one, there's an enormous one in Alexandra Palace (london) in about 2 weeks time - it can be expensive, but it's fun, and I don't drink so I have to spend my money (overdraft) on some thing
This is the list of the people who were there yesterday - but as I said it's a little one - the last one I went to had 3 floors of crafty naughtinesshttp://www.ichf.co.uk/csh/?show=exeter
TMIF - glad you had a good day out. What did you buy? Very nosey I know but you know what we're like.
Hmmm, what did I buy...
New scissors, some little bead pots, some beads, some kreinik thread (sparkly) on offer, and 3 different fabrics from Polstitches - called Moonlight, Imagination and Mythical Mermaid

will catch up later. I'm off to hobbycraft with the credit card (whats good for the goose as they say).
Hubby has 'let me' buy a sewing machine so am going to go source a good book to help with ideas and some fabric to make the buggy blanket I want.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Hi ladies.
Louise. Very nice frames from IKEA.
Brednall. Owl is coming along lovely! I like the other Blackwork designs you have too, especially the 5 point star.
Sweetcarer. I can't wait to see progress on your 'purplework' I'm sure it will look lovely.
Good Luck with your bookmark in the competition
Ailsb. Nice fairy.
PAP. Welcome back!
Not managed any stitching yet this weekend though hopefully will do so later while MotoGP is on.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Thanks for sharing. Interesting that there were only a few cross stitch stalls. I imagined that it would be wall to wall cross stitch :T
How do the prices compare? See I would bimble round and see something I liked but think to myself, oh I could get that cheaper on sew and so or black sheep wools and would begrudge paying extra just to get it in my paws there and then. Me and my friend keep saying we should go and every year we forget! Did you go to the craft fayre in exeter that was on in the summer ? I had that bookmarked to go to then spent too much on my holiday and decided I better not.
on the subject of OHs, I can't really complain about mine especially as he is cooking dinner for me today (I am staying as much out the kitchen as possible!) but I am not looking forward to the next couple of months when every weekend is either walking group, training for running or running event. There is something on every weekend! (and sometimes its both days) I suppose though it gives me plenty of opportunity to stitch!
so not so snotty today so just a slight possibility that I might get some stitching done! yay!0 -

Had some great Christmas/winter/snowy charts e-mailed last night from Celtic Rose Needlecraft. Whole stitches only. Trying to decide whether they would look better on coloured fabric to eliminate some of the background stitching. Can't give you a link as they aren't on their website yet - just in their brochure that they send out.
I will have to try and take a photo then you lovely ladies on here could give me your expert opinion.
PS Hubby still being a pain here - went out with his brother on their mountain bikes at 7am this morning!!!

Do you think its too small for a 2-3mth old baby? need to get on and get more organised Have soooooo many UFOs even lost the fabric too one of them that I want to take away with me.
Deploying tomorrow so will try and voraciously keep track of the gossip and sew if I get time.
Will get my DH to post a picture of the thread box he made for me - any ideas how to make improve it greaterfully received as we are now trying to log exactly what I have. I think he is going to cover it with fabric (because I have soooo much of that - two navy chests full)

Ladies, hoping someone can help me.
Have just been browsing ebay and wish I had bought Issue 213 of Cross stitch Collection when it came out in August.
I am very interested in the 'Feeding Time' chart that came with it.
If you have it and don't want it could you please PM me and we can come to an arrangement
Thanks:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

They have lots of "show offers", and special deals - I would think it's about the same as the internet, plus a lot of chances to look at samples, and ask questions. I am pretty sure black sheep was there yesterday, although I wasn't really looking for kits or wool so I didn't bother to pay it too much attention.
There's stuff to look at too -- there was a big quilting display, a machine embroidery competition display, and the costumes from Pride and Prejudice - which is good, because you have to pay £6-10 to get in to these things.
You should go, just to see if you like itDid you go to the craft fayre in exeter that was on in the summer ?
Which one was that...? I missed it.
There was a vintage fair in town yesterday which I missed - should have liked to go to that as well, but you can't be in two places at once can you0
