    Afternoon all! :hello:

I'm at work today so no stitching until this evening. Husband has reliably informed me my order from crossstitch heaven has arrived so may have a start on my christmas card tonight. :D

Thinking of this for the new year: LINK It would be the most challenging thing I have ever attempted. Apparently it requires 80 colours and as I have no thread stash I would have to purchase all- cross stitch heaven at 39p would work out not too bad...not cheap, but not too bad. :)
  • Wow you lot can talk :)

Right well I had a trip out to hobbycraft to buy some threads and the santa's secret kit just kind of made me buy it...i had no choice honest!! ha ha
Started it last night and im really enjoying doing it so hopefully i finish this one.

Hi postingalwaysposting its nice to 'meet' you

Glad you had a lovely holiday chickywiggle well done with the money :) and that 12 days of christmas chart is great and that poem is funny

Ailsb That fairy is gorgeous! Where can you get the pattern from? You've done a lovely job on that.

FlatEric First that site looks great for gifts and things so thank you for that link! Next I personally think having different coloured aida isn't a problem, Id cut the aida first not to the exact size because Id worry about fraying but to almost the right size so that i could make sure I didn't make the design too big but thats just my opinion.
I think the pandora idea is lovely, Id love to receive that as a gift and be able to swap and change the pictures around depending on how I feel :)

Oh and that christmas magazine looks fab

Ruth_Honey Glad the dentist visit went all ok, sounds like you have a busy weekend planned!

flowerofscotland Hope you're having a nice time stitching nd chatting. I love those christmas tree pieces you have framed.

Laura Well done on the french knots, Ive only just got the hang of them

Maria and the imps Hope you find some time to relax, make hubby swap with you. You aren't being over sensitive, maybe have a word with him?

Louise Those frames were a great buy, they fit perfectly and really suit the pictures.
Im going to join the 12.12.12 and 20.12.2012 just not quite decided on the pieces yet.

Ooo Brednall that blackwork owl is lovely well done!

sweetcarer I think that design will look really nice in purple, can't wait to see it finished

Hi Simac looking forward to seeing your polar bear piece :)

Vikki_Louise Hi :) I might have the pattern for that kit, Ill have a look later and let you now

Mrs Moneypenny Love the idea of giving them a cross stitch gift for their first christmas in their new home.

Right I hope I haven't missed too many people, if I have Im sorry!
Am off to have a look at Lizzie kate patterns!
  • Laura That picture looks lovely, complicated but lovely :)

Quick question to you all, just been looking at lizzie kate patterns, were is the best place to buy the charts and also the best place to buy the fabric that she uses please?

Right Im going to try and fit in some stitching time now

so the organising is going well. I now have a box of my large kits plus a box for all my material. Then we have two drawers of small kits, 2 drawers of cover kits, pause, deep breath...
a drawer full of cross stitch gadgets!, a drawer of (lots of) half finished (some barely started) projects. (including lots of half finished projects from when I first used to cross stitch and used to do the free projects given away with Cross Stitcher magazine) have no idea where the charts are or the threads!

Then finally we have a drawer of charts (eg free ones given by magazines) and finally a drawer for my finished projects (not many in here might I add)

now I just need to decide on a few projects that I would like to do over the next few months and match up threads with aida and charts etc. Then all other threads to be put away and projects decided upon to be completed instead of remaining UFOs!
  • Ruth_Honey After 3 years of pains they finally found that I had a load of gall stones, this was after them insisting it was just severe IBS. I had the odd attack on and off for the first couple of years and they lasted for about 30 - 45 mins then they increased in amount and how long they lasted and in the final 7 - 8 months I was getting attacks almost every 2 weeks and they would last for hours.

Each time before an attack Id get a funny taste in my mouth and I knew Id have to get a hospital bag together, it was awful, they would give me morphine in hospital but it didn't really touch the pain just made me really tired...I guess they gave it me to make me too tired to moan ha ha.

Ive never been so happy to have an operation, Its been about 7 years now since I had my gall bladder removed and if I eat food thats too fatty I get a little bit of pain, nothing too extreme but apart from that and a few scars Im fine.

So there is light at the end of the tunnel, I don't think I cam pm yet but if you want you can have my email address, I check them often so if you get pains even in the middle of the night just email and if Im awake Ill email back and it will hopefully take your mind off the pain slightly, I understand what you are going through and wouldn't wish it on anybody xx
  • Wow you are organised FlatEric
  • Maria - I can sympathise with you. I rushed around to get the weekly shop yesterday so we could go out as a family today. I spent most of the night backwards and forwards to DS as he was very unsettled, up at normal time having breakfast and sorting washing, got little ones up before hubby even surfaced. Changed DD's bed as her nappy had leaked, got everyone fed and ready to go out then on our return, he sat and ate his dinner then complained he hadn't time to go out now on his motorbike!

I've settled both little ones off for their nap while he ran an errand then I've started the ironing and he's now disappeared off out with his brother on his motorbike after all. He won't be here to get tea ready but will expect it cooked when he gets back. I could go on as tomorrow is just about the same but you don't want to hear any more!!!:mad: He's even rented a film for tonight that is nothing like anything I would want to watch :mad:

Have you looked at Across Town Stitching http://www.across-town-stitching.talktalk.net/offer.htm Louise is really good, I know that many of us have bought from her and had great service. She does 100 skeins for £31. Hopefully this will help.

Mallowbrain - thanks for the comments re the Fairy. Maria put the picture of the fairies on here the other day.

My iridescent aida that I ordered via ebay from debs cross stitch and more arrived this morning. It was a bit creased so I've washed it and now have it airing before I start on it. will leave it now until tomorrow so looks like I'll be stitching some of Charlie Bear tonight.
