Sophie's Stocking 30 09 2012 by stitchyfeather, on Flickr
I also worked on my Christmas card but can't share that
pap Love the rose
mrsmp Which of the free LK designs have you been stitching?
Brednall Your owl is lovely and am very impressed by the neatness of the back
skoobie If you like cross stitch designs from the US then the Christmas ornaments magazine is good value for money (especially for a self confessed Christmas obsessive) I get mine from here on subscription

Have you looked at Across Town Stitching http://www.across-town-stitching.talktalk.net/offer.htm Louise is really good, I know that many of us have bought from her and had great service. She does 100 skeins for £31. Hopefully this will help.
Thanks, that is very good. I have ordered the pattern which will take a while to get it to trek it's way over from America. Think I will put the supplies I need on my christmas list- I think I will needs a bigger frame than the one I have, the threads of course and the aida. My husband mum does a lot of cross stitch too so thats the sort of thing she might like to get me.0 -

Catch up part 2
Skoobie What you have done so far on your own design looks lovely
Some interesting designs on the link that FE posted ruth honey Hope you are going to post some update photos
chicky What sewing machine did you buy? Aldi has some cheap craft books in their Sunday deals - the Sew one might be what you are looking for It's also worth looking in charity shops for basic sewing books
FE Yes I have bought cones of thread but only when I have found them at really cheap prices. I use them mainly for needlepunch as this uses a lot of thread but of course I have also cut lengths for xs. You would need to know that you use a lot of a colour to justify the usual price
sweetcarer Your AOY piece is delightful and looks wonderful on that fabric. Was your DH hungry when he made the chip pan comment :rotfl:
Another lovely birth sampler
That auction win is great value
Ruth honey I agree about The Nimble Thimble - I've never been to their shop but have bought from their stand at shows and then over the phone. Lovely people and a great range of US designs - just wish they would do online sales.
Hope your pain has eased this morning
maria have sent the pages of xs clubs - hope you find something in your area
I love scissor keeps and fobs ( I have lots of scissors and love to match the fobs and vice versa)
Not sure what sort of designs you are looking for but The Drawn Thread has a nice selection of free charts for scissor keeps
I stitched a selection of these onto a piece of linen band

Sorry you aren't feeling great. I am hoping my Mum has kept the Cath Kidson booklets for me (before uber tidy Dad clears them into the recycling) Will let you know if I get them
Ailsb Lovely update on Charlie Bear
Louise 12 Days of Christmas is looking great
Still not decided on my projects for 10 11 12 or 20 12 2012 (or 11 12 13)0 -
flowerofscotland wrote: »laura I love that Monet design. It would be expensive to have to buy all the skeins for this but you wouldn't use all of them so would have also made a start on your threads collection:D
I went to a Monet exhibition in the summer and would love to stitch this one having seen the original0 -
Hi ladies.
PAP. Nice Rose progress.
FOS. Nice stocking update.
Thanks for the link to the mag.
Brednall. Very nice work, love the Owl!
Sweetcarer. Nice finishes, especially the butterfly catcher.
Ailsb. Nice progress on Charlie Bear.
Louise. Nice progress on your Project 12.
Anyone that has the chart I am looking for but doesn't want rid of it, could you please tell me roughly how many skeins of thread I would be looking to buy, starting from scratch. I think I should work out this cost first before getting the chart
Thanks.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Finally finished treking through all pages to catch up!
Everyones updates look fab!
I've only done a little bit of stitching over the weekend- started card for christmas card exchange. Have to go to Hobbycraft today to get some card making supplies so will look for an apperture card to fit it.. and try not to spend too much. Especially as boss only paid me half my wage today... long story but the gist of it is he couldn't afford to pay us what he owes now so it was half now, half later. Not happy. Especially as he treated himself to the new Iphone to cheer himself up...
Anyway, must get a wiggle on as I am going to go get my hair cut, go to hobbycraft and get back in time to do some stitching and watch Downton Abbey on catchup0 -
Thank you FOS will check that out now, I also have lots a scissors so may need to make lots lol, I have emailed the telegraph in the hope they are feeling generous! Fingers crossed!
Shelly think I might have missed your post which chart were you after?
Laura, that is so unfair, surely that can't be allowed, can it? Enjoy hobbycraft, the orpington one is my fav place to wonder around13 in 2013 challenge 9/130 -

Hi Maria.
I'm after the chart that came with Augusts Cross stitch Collection issue 213 called 'Feeding Time'. It's a large bird table with birds feeding from it.
I saw it in the shops and for some reason decided against it but recently saw it on ebay and now want it:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
