Thanks for looking. Yeah I can get it online but thought I'd ask here first. Rather buy from a cafe member first before buying from ebay :D

My Cross Stitch Crazy was waiting for me when I got back from shopping so I'll have a look and post my thoughts after lunch. Bit surprised as I thought I had cancelled my sub to this but I'm not complaining if it keeps coming through the letterbox!!

Finished the card for the christmas exchange, though feels strange not to be posting a picture on here.

Had a bad few days which is way I was AWOL over the weekend, Friday was the funeral for my Nan's cousin, who made it to a very impressive 94 years old. Saturday was the news that a family friend has died at just 45, leaving a wife and two teenagers.

We seem to be having a lot of sad news between us all lately.

Cross Stitch Crazy Issue 170 (out on Thursday I think)

Cover Gift - Kate Knight Xmas wreath card kit - quite nice for a quick stitch

Fizzy Moon - love these but never find the time to stitch them

Letters - some nice finished pieces

December fairy - wonder how it compares to the one Louise designed!

Celeb stitch - Gerard Butler - not for me but I've never seen one that's made me think 'I have to stitch that'

50 purrfect pet gift ideas - as always some nice small ideas for cards and coasters (love the little owl especially)

Humbugs - made into tree decs - nice but not for me

Christmas stocking with fairies - love it but not enough time to make it but could use the inidivual fairies as an alternative to the monthly ones

WHite Christmas ABC - would be nice as coasters for Christmas dinner

Crazy for Baubles - OK I suppose

Baby's First Christmas - nice idea if you have someone special to stitch this for

Lesley Teare cards - lovely but as others have mentioned before, I would hate to think they get thrown out with the rest of the cards in the New Year

Crazy Kids - not for me

Challenge Lucie - nice little charts to keep for a future occasion

Track it Down - my request has actually been published - was looking for Las Vegas design but don't like the ones chosen for me I'm afraid. Was looking for something more showing the skyline or the millions of lights that make up Vegas by night

Next issue - Margaret Sherry chart and card, more cards and tree decs

There is an advert for new Michael Powell scissor keep which might interest some of you too but no weird adverts for bras, lookalike baby dolls etc etc

Just my opinion - sorry if it's different to yours

JCS1 - sorry to hear your news. Everyone on this forum is here for you if you need to talk etc

  • JSC1 Really sorry to hear your news, my thoughts are with you

FOS Your stocking is looking great, thank you for the info on lizzie kate designs.

Maria Can't believe I didn't know about the Cath Kidstone giveaways! Hope your feeling better really soon

Chicky Great news about the sewing machine, I had one for christmas....its never been opened lol, I don't even know how to thread one up so I think I need to find some lessons. Hope you have great fun with yours

Laura Thats really unfair about your wages, can't believe he did that! Hope hobbycraft cheers you up :)

Emma How great of you to review the magazine for us, I know I really appreciate that, where I am I have to make a trip to get a magazine its not just 5 mins away so its good to know whether to rush out or not.
Your Owl is so lovely too

Sk00bie nice to see someone else obsessed with christmas :) hope you have a great second week off. The design you've charted yourself would be a lovely thing to complete for 11.12.13

Wow Flateric some of those designs are very ermmm naughty lol :D
Never bought the cones of thread, they look good but not sure Ive got the storage!

Sweetcarer Well done on finishing those pieces, I especially like the little girl, the fabric suits it so well

Ruth I hope your pre assessment went ok? Can't remember exactly how long it took me to recover, I was in hospital for a few days longer because I always react funny to anesthetics so needed the oxygen longer but it went ok and really wasn't long before I was up and about as normal.
Yes I had key hole surgery it only leaves small scars, it really is amazing how they do it all through such small holes!
I think the pain that bothered me the most was the pain straight afterwards from the gas they pump into your stomach to do the op but that soon goes and its all worth it :)
Glad you've found something to help your chocolate and cheese cravings...will be nice when you aren't restricted again.

Thank you for the info about the nimble thimble.

Ailsb Your Charlie Bear is looking good :) I also love the idea of starting something on 10.11.12 and finishing on 11.12.13 just got to pick something.
Thank you for letting me know about the fairy designs, ill have a look back for them.
I noticed you washed some creased aida...can i ask how you washed it? Ive got a few pieces that could do with a wash as they are really creased but im worried about ruining it.

Louise thats looking fab already, I do see what you mean about the writing but unpicking it all would be a nightmare!

Mrs Moneypenny well done on finishing those lizzie kate designs

POP That rose is looking lovely, I must admit evenweave scares me a bit! Such small holes lol

Tellmeitsfriday Sounds like you had great fun at the craft fair and bought some lovely bits

Well I didn't get much stitching done at all over the weekend so going to try and fit some in tomorrow and maybe get a pic up on my progress so far on santa's secret.
Thinking about stitching an advent calandar too, one that doesn't need much/any 'normal' sewing lol!

Hope you all have a lovely evening
