oh those trees look lovely fos, no wonder you decided to keep and frame them.
i always keep special cards but they are in a box withthe deccys i get down and look through each year never though of framing any like that.
im a little confused now about the 12/12/12 and the 20/12/2012 projects. are they two seperate things that we are planning on finishing by those dates or have i missed something.
i got my stichy mags out last night and have found a couple of really nice christmas stitches but not sure ill get them finished in time. ones doable i think and i like the idea of that for my DD3 and her bf as its their first christmas in their new homeSPC~12 ot 124

Re Project 12 - someone (can't recall who - sorry) mentioned that there is a special date this year 12 12 12 (the last we are likely to see) so it would be nice to finish a piece on that date and include the date on the piece. Someone else pointed out that 20 12 2012 is also a special date so there are 2 opportunities. It is entirely up to you whether you chose to stitch for one or both (or neither). They don't have to be Christmas designs - I think it's only the time of year that makes some of us think that would what we are likely to be stitching. Above all it's meant to be a bit of fun and not add to anyone's stress levels  I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves Christmas but does find it stressful as the to do lists grow as the days count down.
Your idea of something special for a first Christmas in a new home is lovely. Is this too simple?
I've stitched the Baby's 1st Christmas and it doesn't take long
Date could easily be changed to one of the special dates0 -
FlatEric I noticed a Newton design "you can never have too many presents" in Issue 172 (which I think is the last one published in 2010)0

Have to admit that it was me who said about 12.12.12 and Louise who said there was also 20122012. Sorry for adding to peoples list.
Still not decided on mine yet. I might try to combine the dates and do a sampler of some sort starting 12.12.12 and finishing 20122012. Would have to be small as this only gives me 9 days and I have Cub Christmas camp in the middle which will knock out at least 4 days.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

I like the idea & glad you mentioned it in plenty of time!
No-one has to join in if they have too much on already, so you're not really adding to people's list. Personally, I'm using it as an opportunity to try & finish a Christmas UFO, but if it looks as though I can't finish in time, I'm not gonna worry about it.
I like your idea of starting & finishing something on the special dates. 9 days isn't long, though. Although I've got some Lizzie Kate ones that I could do in that time...
Must stop changing my mind & just start stitching! :rotfl:
Off to my cross stitch meet in a minute. Then dentist , then lunch. Happy Friday, girls!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

It's Macmillan Coffee Morning at work so I am enjoying a piece of homemake cake with my coffee - feels like a real cafe
MrsMP Hope this link works It works on preview (but then so did the image in my previous post)
I wish now I had realised that finishing pieces on the other special dates this century would have been a nice idea. I did manage something for the Millennium I stitched 2 Just Nan samplers which included "my last stitches of 1999" on one and "my first stitches of 2000" on the other. We had friends and neighbours round for New Year's Eve so I put the 2 samplers in the bedroom and stitched one around 11 p.m. and the 2nd around 1 a.m. Luckily I was sober as I was on call that night so couldn't drink.0 -

There is a list published each month in Cross Stitch Crazy magazine - for cross stitch groups. For other types of stitching groups have you got a local stitching shop?
I can scan the latest pages for you (though not until Monday due to not having working scanner at home)0 -

Lovely idea to combine both dates in this way.
Very impressed that you have finished your card already. And your completed list is also impressive and would look even more impressive if you include other non xs projects.0
