Very quick post as stitchy club time!
Thanks for posts re newton bear :j
re kit for friend, budget is normally £15 - £20 at a stretch.
so £45 odd plus postage is
The kit is good value considering each kit bought individually retails at £10 odd.
But it is a lot of money to spend and my finances are not fantatic at the moment (too many cross stitch buys :rotfl:) so I will have a think. If it retailed at £40 (free postage) then I would probably go for it but £45 odd is just that bit too much...
ok - off to stitch :j:T0 -

If the usual budget is £15 - £20 and a friend of mine spent £45 I would be mortified and possibly even a little annoyed instead of grateful0 -
FOS - Thanks for the link. I've been looking at that site this week, and have now made an order, three charts. The baby girl sampler, the house rules one and the Friends welcome one. Love this forum cos i get loads of inspiration. Work just gets in the way of all the sewing i've got planned, lol.0

Trixie - hope you had a good holiday. Maybe you could PM Caroline and see if she has had anyone else ask to join the exchange late.
I'll leave it this time but would definately like to be included in a round robin if we do one in the New Year.
Trying to finish my Greek Scene by the weekend as I want to sort the threads for the London Sampler that was in WOXS recently. Hoping to make it my Project 12 and then give to Mum for Christmas as she has lots of London pictures in the lounge and it would be perfect. Might be a bit optimistic though
Off now to look at Cross Stitch Heaven....Cross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44:rudolf:Cross Stitch Is For Life Not Just For Christmas :rudolf:0 -
Am still catching up on posts so apologies if this seems as though it has come from a time machine.
chicky I love your DS1's comment about the number of sleeps until grandma comes - it's just the sort of comment that you have to remember so that you can embarrass them when they are teenagers:D
nmm Thank you for the link to the framing site. I have bookmarked it for future use. I think I would still pay for a professional to frame my big pieces but for smaller pieces these would be ideal. And I love the personalised photo mounts (think these would make lovely Xmas gifts)
The Dragon Great idea about printing on graph paper
brednall What a shame about the craft fair. I wouldn't open an eb shop until I had tried selling some of the items individually as a private seller. Hope Etsy works out for you
maria I love the embroidery of the hands. I have plaster casts of the hands and feet of my grandchildren and they are one of the things I most treasure. And the Valentine heart will made a beautiful cushion.
ruth honey Love your designs for Project 12
skoobie The Blackwork Angel will be a wonderful Project 12 stitch
Is anyone keeping track of who wants to stitch what for Project 12?0 -
i havent thought of my project 12 yet, it wont be titanic thats for sureSPC~12 ot 124

Yes that's a fair point. I think I am going to raincheck the idea for now and pick something else.
Ideally I would like to give her a handmade gift but I don't think I will be organised enough to get it done in time.0 -

Louise Love the purple fairy (I can't remember who you said you were stitching it for).
The cupcakes are wonderful and will look stunning in a 3 aperture frame. Which other one are you going to stitch?
No one, I just liked it. I will eventually make it into a card - white with silver embellishments and it will go in the card box. Mind you I have a friend who would appreciate it - he birthday isn't till April though :rotfl:
My third cupcake will be the Rudolph one I think.Hi everybody :hello:

I don't think so - but I think there's only a few of us who have decided on something. If those joining in could remind us all what they are stitching, I can use my post on the first page to keep a record everyone's design and progress.
