Couple of random Christmas cupcakes I have stitched when I couldn't be bothered with bigger projects:
These are lovely, they so much nicer in "real" life. They are the ones that were in the magazine this time weren't they? Particularly like the Santa one. I don't really stitch cards as I find that people throw them away with the other cards. I'd rather stitch pictures. Thinking that these could be stitch 2 or 3 in a row and put in a cheap frame as a gift.
You are very naughty posting a picture of the fairy. I really want to start stitching something similar for my cousin but I am being good and making sure I finish my card for the exchange first. Think I should have used a different pattern for this - it's taking me ages but doesn't look a lot. Also concerned that it's not going to fit the aperature. Anyway enough about the card.
I'm only up early because I'm so blocked up and my throat & head hurts with my cold. Feeling sorry for myself. Going to have a day of watching telly and stitching (when I can be bothered).Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Louise - they are so cute. Where are they from - a mag or kit??
Love the fairy too although not something I would probably stitch.

Thanks for clearing up the rules Caroline
I realised i didn't have any fabric so i'm treating myself to some Iridescent aida and buying a proper aperture card. If anyone else needs fabric and cards for the exchange i found cross stitch heaven to be very reasonable for both. The 5"x7" aida is 40p and the card is 53p, postage is only £1 too  The design i'm doing is very non-traditional, i hope the recipient will like it
I concur, thank you Caroline for all the details.
Think cross stitch heaven is going to busy - just ordered a card and some threads I was missing from there too.
I am looking at my design and wondering now if it is good enough. Its chosen now, I have sorted out my threads just waiting on some material to do it on - will blame it on hubby I asked his opinion and said it looked good.:rotfl:
Keep well girls,

Hi ladies.
Just a quickie as not been well this week, like many others, have a dreadful cold. I have been reading and keeping up to date, just not been posting
Everyone's work is looking great, enjoying the updates and finishes.
said I would be quick....:D:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Morning all
Boo I'm at work. But stitchy club again today. Last night I was intending to stitch all evening but cat was being super friendly so ended up laying on the sofa with him and thus fell alsleep only to wake just as things got a bit wet for Matt Alwright on Watchdog!:rotfl:
Two random questions now....
Is anyone a fan of the Newton's law bear. For a time, he featured in World of Cross Stitch every month. Being the disorganised person I am, I have mislaid all my charts so wondered if you happen to have collected them whether you can tell me which World of Cross Stitch mag he started in and which Issue he finished. Also if you happen to have issue number and what design featured - that would be fab :T There were some I didn't want to stitch but quite a few I did really like and had on my imaginary to do list.
Second question.
Would you spend £45 odd (plus postage) on a cross stitch kit for a friend for xmas. Its a lot for this kit but to buy the designs individually would cost around £11 each (and there are 12 of them). Likewise, would you buy aida or evenweave for the design (it is the calendar cats design by Peter Underhill).0
