Thanks Fos thats where i got the aida from, just ordered 2 pieces of Iridescent aida and a piece of ice blue, the card & the evenweave/linen sample pack as i've never used anything but aida. Grand total £2.78 bargain. Now i just got to meet the postman so the puppy doesn't chew it :rotfl:

Thanks for orig link nmm, I have also just ordered iridescent and iceblue and silver lurex and plain white aidas and some threads. Going to have a bash at sewing the design I have charted myself If it doesn't work, I'll stitch up something I've got a proper pattern for

I do have a wee update though - she's nearly done; just the gold outlining on her wings, and the stems to do now

brednall Is this the birth sampler you like? I've got this design though I haven't stitched it yet. When I found it yesterday I was very puzzled by the thread requirements It says you need 4 x 8m skeins of the dark red (221) and 4 x 8m skeins of the grey blue (414). I know there is some solid background stitching in the red on 5 of the squares but I just can't imagine using 4 skeins. What do you think?

FOS - thanks for the link. Just ordered aperature card, 2 pieces 5x5 white iridescent, 1 piece 5x7 silver lurex aida, a sample pack and white floss for £3 inc postage - can't be bad. Less than the petrol to get to my local shop.
