Welcome to our two new stitchers...

To make the rules a bit clearer, we do sign our cards, just don't say on here or show our stitching until the reveal.
The card can be any size and I don't think any message would offend anyone. If it would please send me a pm and I will let you stitcher know.
We are not paired up but I numbered everyone and then randomly picked numbers so the person you are stitching for is not the person who is stitching for you.

Anymore questions, please feel free to pm or ask on here...

Totally non stitch related - just heads up that Sainsbury's have 25% off clothing until next Monday. Love their jeans - at just over £9 I haven't found anywhere to beat them. Hope you don't mind me posting about this but thought I'd share in case anyone needed anything and had missed it being mentioned eleswhere.

    Yes - thank you!!:T

Need another couple of school cardis and tights for DD now winter is practically upon us :D And can you believe my eldests' shoes are looking wecked already! They have only been back 5 blimmin weeks. :eek:I bought him Sketchers shoes thinking they would last, but he can get supermarket ones to replace them this time, named brands don't last any longer tbh. It's not as if he even plays footie in them either, it's just the vast amount of walking he does round school each day.

We were in BHS today as my brother gets married next Monday and he needed to get shoes for my wee one and his other wee pageboy. They have all their school shoes reduced down to between £7 and £12. This was the Newtownabbey store so it may be store specific but maybe worth a wee look.

Caroline - thanks for the clarification. Have changed my mind on the card I was going to stitch at keast a dozen times but have now started something and still not sure if it's right. Never mind will keep going and decide once it's finished. It's not so much the stitching that's bothering me it's the finishing it into a card.

caroline - thanks for the clarification.

    **OFF TOPIC**

Ailsb - thanks for the TU heads up. I got some jeans from Mr. T's recently (think they were just over £10 and they are really comfy too with decent length in the body. Material isn't too thick which makes drying indoors easier with all this rain.

sk00bie - should have added a canoe to the brollies and wellies. Not much sign of it letting up here today.

    Take care everyone,

  • Morning all

Been busy stitching the blackwork owl that a few of you mentioned. I have done all the outline, half the head filled in and his chest too. Just got the wings which I think is the more complicated part. Not sure whether to keep him for myself or give him at Christmas but I just can't think who to give him to!!

More rain here in Derbyshire - great. My first morning with my DD at pre-school and I can't take my DS out in this. Good job Grandma is coming over - I will have to get wet alone and do my errands.

  • Its become really obvious while doing the tiny cross stitch I am doing that my eye sight is rubbish! I do wear contacts but when I am reading can see better with them out. I find that I have trouble seeing the holes in the fabric!! I tend to do stuff like that in bed as I am nice and cosy so need some kind of magnifier i think. does anyone use one? things to look out for? the hobby specific ones seem quite pricey but have seen them about for around £20. ant input on helping me to see better would be great!
  • mrs baggins - sorry I can't help with magnifying things as I have to remove my specs when stitching but I'm sure someone will be along shortly with some advice for you.

brednall - aren't grans (and grandads) wonderful things :D
