    Hi all

Not been on for a while as I have been spending the last week or so sorting out the garden and getting my greenhouse and seeds all organised. ave planted up all the ones I can for March so hopefully I will now get some stitching done. I will have to really as I need to finish my WIP for my MIL birthday on 18th April:eek:. Should manage to do it as I only have 5 letters left to do and each take 2 nights of stitching. Saw a nice frame yesterday for it so when it's finished I will take the final measurements and see if it fits.

    Loving all the beautiful stitching.

Chickywiggle where did you get the superhero figures they are great and my DS1 would love them.

    Ditto

Going out with the girls later - annoyed as out the 6 of us - there is me (who organised this time), my best friend (who said yes right away), another friend (who confirmed the next day), one confirmed she could not make it - maybe sometime in May when she has more time, one says she can only come for coffee and not lunch but doesn't know for sure if she can make it and the last one has said yes to the initial invite and when i sent the word of where - I have not heard (text her another time too and no word).

I know we all have lives but it would be nice to know - I haven't booked the restraunt as unsure of the number - so taking pot luck if they have a table but I think they will at 2 in the after noon with snow outside and high bitterly cold winds - won't be many about.

Oh well off to do some more purple work till later.

    Kind wishes to all,

    sweetcarer ;)

Hi. Hope everyone is staying warm. This weather is insane!

winnie pooh - I did a long stitch kit when I was little. I found it quicker than cross stitch ;)

Maria - the owls look great. Very colourful.

sweetcarer - purple work looks lovely. My favourite colour.
I've found it difficult sometimes to get friends out together. How about checking with the restaurant to see how many you can book for and how many cancellations they would allow?

I have finished another page of Forest Walk

I was undecided what to do today. Ideally I would have liked to do all the different things I had in mind... but sadly I haven't invented that thing Hermione had in Harry Potter that means you can be in two places at once !

I had it narrowed it down to shopping (need to get a couple of birthday presents) and going to bingo (thought i might try the mecca max bingo unit - has anyone been to bingo and used this? rather than the paper tickets).

Sadly these plans got thwatted when I went up the shop to get the sunday paper and then wait outside the shop for the bus as seemingly i got my timings wrong and missed it!

Oh well after a bit of a wait for the non existent bus (and a return visit to the shop to find out where my knitting card was (meant to be free with the mail on sunday) (they didn't have it) I returned home where I've made a complete mess of my kitchen as I decided to make some scotch eggs then make a sausage casserole for tea.

off now to tackle the washing up then may be tv and stiching this afternoon. also meal planning (groan)

still snowy outside and i don't need to go anywhere. So I'm tidying up my embroidery threads - winding new ones onto those plastic bobbins and transferring older ones from the dog earred cardboard bobbins to nice new plastic. I've got a couple of packs of DMC numbers too - it's all looking very posh.

Still not sure how to arrange them though. I've got those plastic craft boxes for them but do I store them in numerical order or by colour groups Views would be welcome.

I'll post a pic when finished (probably next winter !!).

  • Hi Linda I have just re done mine, and got very obsesive about it lol I printed off a thread list so I had all the numbers, each section of a thread box holds 6 bobbins comfortably, so in put in the colours I did have and put in a empty but numbered bobbin in for the ones I didn't have all in order, Any doubles I put to one side, and made a list so I could see quickly if I had run out of a colour if I had a spare. I then made cardboard bits to go in the top of my box so I could see which section had which colour in. I promise I'm not mad I just like to be organised!

By colour groups if you are a spur of the moment stitcher i.e. the pattern may say one colour but either you don't fancy that colour or you don't have it or by number if you are (like me) obsessive about using the thread number stated. I have mine sorted White to 434, 435 to 747 etc (pinched the idea from sew and so as this is how they are grouped for sale)
